They thought it was all over.....
Review created: 02/11/08

This recording was designed to capture the last ever live performance of Thunder - probably Britain's best rock band of the late '80s and '90s. Despite theit perseverence following the attempts of Nirvana et al to murder rock music as we knew it, Thunder felt that they should finally call it a day in 2000 with one final hurrah in the form of night recorded here.

This CD represents the first half of the show - acoustic versions of some of Thunder's finest songs sitting alongside some cover versions (including "Harry's", ahem, interesting version of "Close to You"). Even on CD you can feel the sense of enjoyment from the band and the fans alike - questions from the crowd being answered by the boys (tongues firmly in their cheeks at times!)

How great it is that their break up was relatively short lived, and Thunder are back - their new CD "Bang" is out early November 2008 supported by a tour. If you're lucky you might get chance to hear them perform acoustically (I did just this week) as well as in their full on electric version.

Be aware that most of these songs are available as disc one of "They Think It's All Over...It Is Now".

If you love Thunder get it, its great! Thunder are perfect to transfer their type of melodic rock to the acoustic. The band always seem to be enjoying themselves as much as the audience. I've never known a bad show yet.
