I bought this film having seen it for sale at the National Railway Museum's Thomas The Tank Engine Shop in York. My 4 year old son is Thomas mad and has many of the TV based DVD's and I thought at least another DVD would stop me having to watch the same ones over and over again.
This film is unlike any other Thomas movie as it is an american bastardised version of the Thomas we know and love. Unlike the usual Thomas the Tank Engine programs, this one employs actors to voice every engine unlike the usual narative by Ringo or Michael Angelis. Once you get over the shock of this the film is generally all round family entertainment. My son was a little scared of Diesel 10 [but then again who isn't!].
I would recommend this for Thomas Mad children, however, the feature length "Calling All Engines" is more my cup of tea and takes less getting used to but then again I'm 31 and reviewing a film aimed at 4-8 year olds. Maybe I should get out more.

I bought this dvd for my autistic son as he is mad about Thomas the tank engine.He really enjoyed it,although on a personel level i thought it could have been better acted by the human characters!My son does enjoy watching it again and again,if you have a young Thomas fan in the house there sure to enjoy it,it keeps my boy happy!

My three children all enjoyed this film. The two year old boy just kept shouting "Thomas" at the screen every time he came on. The Seven and nine year old girls enjoyed it also which surprised me. They like the story line and were not confused at all (as I was) by the various worlds and the magic railway buffers. I would recommend this to any child who likes Thomas the Tank engine but if you have other children that do not, you might find that they enjoy it too.

it was for a member of family,yes it is excellent, they love it. as it was for a 5 year old whos grown up loving thomas he sat through the whole dvd without moving which is good.

My son, Ryan, is a huge Thomas the Tank Engine fan and whilst we had this on VHS the quality was not so good so we bought the DVD. It keeps him quiet for hours and is not too bad to wact as an adult either!!

I had a copy of Thomas and the Magic Railroad on video but after my video broke, I had to buy the DVD as my son just loves this film. Great all round family entertainment. Any Thomas Tank engine fan will love watching this film over and over.

Brilliant film for all ages. I bought this for my 3 year old son as he absolutely loves anything Thomas by the time the film was ending the whole family including 2 teenagers were all there watching. It trualy is a film everyone, not just Thomas fans, would thoroughly enjoy.There are a lot of well known actor involved in this production, including Thomas of course. There are no parts that i would worry about my youngster watching, which is a bonus

This film is a really great kids film, it has a story line kids can understand and a good mix of original thomas animation as well as real life. My daughter loves this film and i decided to buy it on dvd from ebay after we went to the cinema to see it at a special childrens cinema day.

WOW well what can i say the kids love all 3 of them.ranging from 9 to 1 in age.

A successful mix of live action and animation, this movie finds Thomas in both familiar and unfamiliar territory, with many unfamiliar but perfectly attuned characters. Fun for all the family, with Thomas saving the day as usual, the bad guy getting his come-upance and many others learning along the way and finding happiness. A treat!
