This is the second series of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends (now known as just Thomas and Friends), from 1986. Narrated by Ringo Starr of Beatles fame, it continues to tell the stories and adventures of Thomas and his friends on the Island of Sodor, as well as introducing many new characters, both good and bad.

The series is entertaining for children of all ages, with many friendly characters for children to befriend.

DVD Features - 3 out of 5.

The disc is threadbare in terms of extra features. The only feature is subtitles, and these are more descriptive subtitles aimed at younger children, rather than an accurate depiction of what's being siad.

Overall, I recommend this DVD to fans of Thomas the Tank Engine. It will delight children of all ages.

My 2 year-old is a big Thomas fan, so I thought it was time to expand his DVD collection. This DVD has been a great success. Each episode is 5 minutes long, making it easy to limit the time your child spends in front of the TV. This isn't always easy, as there is plenty to occupy children - my child is glued to the screen when this DVD is on.

Minuses are no extras and the fact that viewing is restricted to playing all episodes or having to play one episode at a time. My child prefers to watch episodes in varying order, so that means that an adult always needs to be around. With the episodes being so short, don't plan on using this DVD as a babysitter.

All in all, a good product!

As I bought this as a present, its hard for me to actually review. On taking the DVD out of the case it had a few scratches on it but played ok and my nephew was very happy when he recieved it.

Ringo Starr is the best Thomas story teller ever!!

Although the actual trains, figures and animals are now very dated we, grandchildren, grandparents and children have thoroughly enjoyed watching this - its over 20 years since we watched the originals.

There are 26 episodes on this DVD so keeps on playing for ages which is great and keeps the little ones happy for ages whilst they are playing.

Classic Thomas with short, simple stories, amusing situations and a good variety of characters. It held our toddler enthralled and, with 26 different tales to spread over time, it represents very good value for money.

For me you can't beat the classic Thomas stories in series 1 & 2 with Ringo Starr narrating. I greatly prefer these to the CGI offerings and other narrators of the later DVD's and the updated title tune that goes with them. My children grew up with the original Thomas (VHS then)and loved it, now my grandson is also able to enjoy these classic productions (although he also has some of the CGI as well).

I Puchased this item for my Son, I paid instantly via Paypal and it was delivered to me next day and in perfect condition, just as the seller listed the item.

I will when needed visit this seller again and purchase with no doubt in my mind at all.

My son is an avid fan of Thomas and buying him a replacement for the DVD he had scratched and seeing his smile made it worth it.

i think what i say it so old but i do remember watch it when i ws very small and i will watch again again it not just for kids go back when you where small and remember the old days

Havins a little boy who loves Thomas the tank engine brings back your childhood, I think the old classic version is far better with the old tune... Classic, my little boy loves it. I had tried getting a DVD off thomas the tank for a long time and when I finally seen the old collection on e bay I was trilled. Definately worth a look

This DVD is great value for money it has 26 brilliant episodes. The stories are told by Ringo Starr. These are classic Thomas stories and not the newer versions. Thomas is up to all his usual tricks in these episodes and is not to be missed by Thomas fans young and old. I would recommend this for any small boy who likes Thomas.
