An attempt to revive the Up Pompeii formula but without the strong supporting cast or scripts . An older Frankie lacks the energy of Up pompeii or even Whoops Baghdad and the interplay with the audience that worked so well in those series , even though largely scripted , falls short here . But for people interested in the career of Frankie Howerd , it is worth getting .

) I brought this dvd for myself as I was raised on frankie howerd and it was part of my life. he always makes me laugh and I wanted to build up my collection of stuff that he was in so decided to get this dvd which I,d never seen before and which was very enjoyable so titter ye not mrs... I bought this as I am a fan of the classic Frankie Howerd movies Up Pompeii etc. Although this still shows Howerd's comic abilities, I think they stretched the shows too much and some of the humour seems very forced and dated when viewed today. Saying this, there are some very funny moments and this should still provide delights for the collector, but for someone viewing Frankie for the first time, you would be better seeing one of the other films first.
