Album Notes Full title: The Holy Bible: 10th Anniversary Edition.Additional package information: Remaster, Digipak.Manic Street Preachers: James Dean Bradfield (vocals, guitar); Richey James (guitar); Nicky Wire (bass); Sean Moore (drums). All songs written by Manic Street Preachers.Manic Street Preachers: James Dean Bradfield (vocals, guitar); Richey James (guitar); Nicky Wire (bass guitar); Sean Moore (drums). The tragic and unresolved disappearance of Richey Edwards looms larger than life every time this album is played. Just as they were being hailed as the potential "next big thing," the band was thrown into disarray, and as a result, this credible album was somewhat overlooked while the world searched for Richey. Now that the dust has settled and people have accepted his likely demise, this album can at last be appreciated. Even though the spoken introduction "Of Walking Abortion" is spookily prophetic, the understated quality of all the songs puts this album much closer to the gigantic EVERYTHING MUST GO than its success would indicate. Reviews Review created: 23/02/08 by: The Holy Bible captured 1994 perfectly. This album amongst other great music of that year was definitely the best. This 10th anniversary edition comes with an excellent dvd showing Manics live and videos with Richey. Shortly after came Richey's legendary dissapearance. This is a perfect purchase for any newcomer to the Manics and Richey's story or anyone wanting to rediscover a most important time.Highly recommended. Richey writes 75% of the lyrics on this album and it shows the worrying frame of mind he was in at the time of writing. The album covers politics, capital punishment, anorexia, death, religion and self disgust. The lyrics are razor sharp and complimented by James excellent music and ability to shape lyrics into a song. His singing and management of fitting richeys long lyrics into sentences is unbelievable and a pleasure to hear. Everything about the album is great.....so great! The American mix is also brilliant with some tracks on this better than the UK version. I also enjoyed the interview with bandmembers and watching the live performances as well. Please purchase this - you wont regret it! Review ID: 10000000003321160 Was this review helpful? Report this review What a masterpiece! This is one of those iconic pieces of pure music that you do not come across that often. This album changed the face of Rock / Punk music forever. If Modern day life and politics make you want to SCREAM, this is a definate listen. Sublime Music and Lyrics to match, Richey James is sorely missed, however,if you like this, have a listen to James Dean Bradfields Album "The Great Western", Pure class, Both musically and Lyrically.
