I decided to buy this dvd as i heard loads of good comments about it and wanted to see if it was as marvelous as everyone makes out!! IT IS! you wont get bored watching it and get slightly disappointed when it ends. it tells of a 'conquest' to bring soul music to Ireland with top singers and fab actors. all in all...i am very glad i bought this item

great film lent my last one out, so had to buy new one its so good, didnt get other one back, i like the story about people from normal everyday life make something extrordinary out of their life's. it went a bit pear shaped for them but in the end they made it on their own, and it is a very good laugh as well. Well done

I decided to buy this dvd for my other half as he hadnished reading the wabook.We liked the film because it had t music that we both loved back in the 70s,it funny,sad but above all it says to you anything is possible,so whatever
your dream give it a go,who knows what will come of it,brilliant music which made me then buy the music cd as well.

love this film but only have it on a dodgy old video recording. good to watch it on dvd quality with my little girl who is one and has spent all evening singing along and dancing.

EXCELLENT FILM.
This is a story about a band that nearly becomes successful, but doesn't because of the constant squabbling and immaturity /maturity of its members.
Brilliant- especially the bit about the pony in the lift!!

If you have not seen this and you like old tunes- Mustang Sally etc, SEE IT!

When I found out that my wife had recorded over my VHS copy of the Commitments, I just had to buy a DVD copy. A film with brilliant music and acting that has to be seen to be appreciated. After a few viewings, it still retains its magic for me.

I love this film. It has a good story and a great soundtrack! Haven't seen it for a few years but figured it was definitely one to add to my collection.

If there is even the tiniest drop of soul in your bones, you will love this film as much as I do!

This is FAB!! I remembered it when the film first came out ( I saw it in Dublin - what a hoot ! ) and then bought the cd , the video......... my 21 yr old niece saw the cover and accused me of being a "saddo" trying to relive my youth......... she has since watched it three times, taken the dvd to a sleepover night with her mates and will not give it back .......

I bought this dvd to replace my vhs copy of this film. It has always been one of my favourite movies, great soundtrack, great cast(including a young Andrea Coor), great acting, great storyline. As you can proberly tell i love this film.

This is a classic film that I decided to purchase and to add to my collection. The dvd came in a small reel type box which looked great. This item makes an excellent present for film buff.

Bought this DVD because my partner has never seen this film but loves soul music. Had tried all usual places (HMV, Asda, Tescos, etc) but nobody had it in with it being an old film. Sat and watched it one Saturday night when weather was too foul to go out. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will probably watch it again soon. Thanks Ebay, should have tried you first!!

I had this film on video but it was getting well worn. as I consider it a 'fab' film I had to get it on DVD so it wouldn't ware out anymore

well the film wasnt for me it was for my mum she says the film was exalant and recomends it for people to whatch and have a good laugh so i watched it and i thoughrt it was exelant to so for all you ebayers out their whatch it all the beast. justjents
