From an artistic perspective, this album is fantastic! In terms of the song writing and performance it would be very hard to surpass!! however the choice of theme and lyrics of many if not all of the songs is questionable. Lyrics are very dark and sinister, throwing up negative issues such as death/dying, hell, suicide etc. If anyone has ever told you that you're emotionally unstable, or you've suffered/surring depression this probably isn't the best album for you. Otherwise, buy it now and enjoy!!! listen to with caution

We love it! We think its awesome!
Who are we? - A 45 year old ageing rocker into Led Zeppelin and a 10 year old son into Green Day.
I guess there will be many other ages who agree.
Powerful lyrics and powerful music!

My son very happy and knows most of the words to sing at full tilt everywhere he goes. He went by word of mouth & checking tracks on UTube bugged me till we found it. catchy thing so as a parent I can live with it when he plays. I like that the lyrics are more erudite than many bands - sneak teaching of poetry.

  The Best CD Ever!

Well I absouletly love the music but that is to everyones own taste. One of the things that made me buy it was I had heard some of their songs and had seen the cover art and decided I wanted to buy it for myself. The main thing that persuaded me to want my own copy instead of downloading it or borrowing a friend was the way it is presented. The sleeve holds the key information and comes in two colours black or white (background), the lyrics are in a newspaper layout which i think is quite original and cool, on the back of the lyrics is a small poster which is the most used MCR picture for the black parade.
One of the things I really like about this CD is that there is only one slow track which means it doesn't bring you down. I also love the way most of the titles aren't actually in the song which I think is very original. I also like the way that Gerard Way uses different accents and doesn't just sing he changes his voice to suit the message they are trying to get across of the feel of the music.

One of the best CD's Ever

Okay this CD's content is a little more commercial than their earlier stuff but what a brilliant CD without exceptions. The variety of quieter and more "dramatic" songs on this CD is great - like for example "Mama" - its somewhere between bonkers and brilliant - I'm certain there are influences of Pink Floyd the Wall in this track particularly.

This CD is selling on Ebay for just a couple of quid - what a bargain and what a CD for any Rock fan even if you haven't got any MCR already.

Just two words of warning though - it is a "parental advisory" CD but nothing too bad, just give it some thought so your 9 year old doesn't start singing "teenagers" to his teachers !!! and also be vary careful playing this CD while driving - it seems to have an affect on the engine :-)

Awesome rock album that WILL become a Classic.

Bought this album (for a bargain price on eBay) after hearing and loving MCR's last few singles. U.K singles on this album are: Welcome to the Black Parade (also the album title), Teenagers, I Don't Love You, and Famous Last Words - don't recognise the titles? you'll recognise the songs as soon as you hear them, they were all U.K hits.
In my opinion this album still has a few singles left on it. The singles released are very reflective of the album; great lyrics, great vocals/harmonies, and awesome melodies. Don't be put off by some of the song titles, the album's sound is very upbeat and will have you singing along in no time (easy as the lyrics are included!) You'd think the lyrics were written by someone with much more life experience than these young pup's. They cover a range of dark and depressing topics but somehow manage to keep the songs sounding upbeat without being distasteful or disrespectful. There isn't a song on the album that i'd skip, and the hidden track at the end is insane. The biggest surprise for me was seeing Liza Minelli (yes the same one) getting guest vocal credit on Mama (although this shouldn't put you off, you can't hear her that much!)
The album was produced by the boys themselves, along with the talented Rob Cavallo (who also worked on Green Day's American Idiot album).
I LOVE this album. It's fast becoming a favourite, and i've only had it for a week! If you don't have it, and you love MCR's sound, than go out and buy it now. Believe me it's well worth the money.

This is an amazing and profound album that digs deeply into todays darker topics at heart. Cancer is something hardly anyone wants to talk about but in the song; My Chemical Romance express it so tenderly that it makes me cry everytime I hear it. Teenagers will become a anthem a lot like their I'm Not Okay song; it expresses what most people feel about teenagers and although I am a teenager; other teenagers scare me to death. Overall it is a powerful and alternative piece of art and music ranging from The End to Blood. Every song is a pure treat to the ears and it should not be missed.

A class album that should earn them a wider audience. Definately a dark album but shows that quality can shine through despite a 'structured' approach.

This is a very good party album with most of the tracks being very strong and easy to listen to. This is a much more commercial album than anything else MCR have ever produced and is much more pop influenced and radio friendly. There is so much more to this album than the singles which include the pop "I dont love you". Songs like "The sharpest lives", "House of wolves" and "Dead" are what this band is all about and are my favourites. The music is fast, with heavy guitars and melodic vocals. MCR are not easy to categorise as pop, rock, goth, emo etc etc. They are a combination of several genres and are unique. Buy this album if you like any of the bands other stuff or if you want a fun album with guitars and good fast vocals. This is a must for any MCR or emo fans and a good place for anyone who likes the singles but hasn't previously owned a MCR recoed. Best served loud!

  Disappointing

Now maybe I was being naieve, but I bought this album having heard two or three MCR singles and liking the sound of them.

In many of the tracks on The Black Parade, the emotional feel of the singles gives way to a less powerful mish-mash which often appears to be ill thought-out.

I'm not saying the whole album is rubbish - there are always exceptions. But for the most part, I did find myself wishing I'd hung on to my cash because the singles I'd already heard were the only really good tracks on the album.
