Bought this album (for a bargain price on eBay) after hearing and loving MCR's last few singles. U.K singles on this album are: Welcome to the Black Parade (also the album title), Teenagers, I Don't Love You, and Famous Last Words - don't recognise the titles? you'll recognise the songs as soon as you hear them, they were all U.K hits.
In my opinion this album still has a few singles left on it. The singles released are very reflective of the album; great lyrics, great vocals/harmonies, and awesome melodies. Don't be put off by some of the song titles, the album's sound is very upbeat and will have you singing along in no time (easy as the lyrics are included!) You'd think the lyrics were written by someone with much more life experience than these young pup's. They cover a range of dark and depressing topics but somehow manage to keep the songs sounding upbeat without being distasteful or disrespectful. There isn't a song on the album that i'd skip, and the hidden track at the end is insane. The biggest surprise for me was seeing Liza Minelli (yes the same one) getting guest vocal credit on Mama (although this shouldn't put you off, you can't hear her that much!)
The album was produced by the boys themselves, along with the talented Rob Cavallo (who also worked on Green Day's American Idiot album).
I LOVE this album. It's fast becoming a favourite, and i've only had it for a week! If you don't have it, and you love MCR's sound, than go out and buy it now. Believe me it's well worth the money.
