The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (DVD 2001)

I bought this dvd as I own the first movie in the series and really enjoyed it. The dvd was banned for several years. The extra features are disappointing on the dvd as it only includes the Theatrical trailer and interactive menu. But I was really pleased with the actual film itself.

Made in 1986 and starring Dennis Hopper this film is a real Cult horror classic in my eyes. Picture quality and sound(dolby digital) were very good. The plot was very gripping and horrific but kind of funny at the same time. Some scenes were so horrific it made me laugh. Some of the phrases people used too in the film were funny.The thing that I found clever about this film were the cannibal people. They were so weird and mad it was scary. Leatherface and his family continue their rampage across Texas and Lefty(Dennis Hopper) wants revenge as Leatherface killed his brothers kids in the first film. He plays the part of the revengeful Copper perfectly. A local DJ helps him try and catch the mad killers.

The film is 136 minutes of pure eye candy with action and gore and also a very good storyline. I really enjoy watching this film and it has some really nasty surprises here and there that will make you hide behind the sofa. For all you horror fans this is a must in your film collection.

Very Underrated film. I think Tobe Hooper knew he couldn't make a sequel anywhere near as good as the original, so he decided to push it to the limits. See what he could get away with. The Film is very much part of the 80's Slasher era, the acting is OTT! but entertaining. I think its suppose to be stupid, but its still very twisted. Definitely worth a watch.

It was ok, a average horror film. A good sequel but as a stand alone it is weak. Good effects with a fairly good story. Easy to watch and does what it says on the tin!

The Texas chainsaw massacre 2 is a great film to watch if your into your horror/action films. This version is the version which is set back slightly. Great action and some edge of seat moments too.

If you're expecting a film similar in quality to the excellent original, then you are going to be very let down by this woefully bad sequel. Dennis Hopper hams it up as the uncle of two of the original's victims - Sally and Franklin - who is out for revenge on the cannibal family from the first film, who are now living in an abandoned amusement park in rural Texas. When a plucky radio DJ overhears the murder of a pair of teenagers during her broadcast, the family is out to get rid of her and remain unknown. This film is much gorier than the first and features a new member of the famous family in the repulsive Chop Top, who was apparently fighting in the war during the first film. The film appears to be a parody of the original, but is simply not funny. Unless you find the thought of a woman being forced to wear the cut-off face of her boyfriend amusing, then it's safe to say that you won't be laughing. There is also a lot of noise - whether it is necessary for the plot or not - which may force you to turn down the volume or turn it off completely out of utter irritation. Tobe Hooper - who did so well with the original and also his brilliant Poltergeist - should have known better.

i just like all horror movies and have watched all the texas chain saws. thought the next generation i would not advise on

this one is gore splatterific funny! nothing more, nothing less. lick my plate! And leatherface is an emo to in this movie, check it out!

AS A BIG HORROR MOVIE FAN AND A FAN OF LEATHERFACE I WAS VERY DISSAPPOINTED TO SEE HIM NOT IN THIS MOVIE.
I LIKE ALL THE MOVIES AND THE RE-MAKES BUT WHAT HAPPENED HERE?
THERE WAS NO SUSPENSE OR REAL HUMOUR IN THIS FILM AND IVE TRIED WATCHING IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN BUT SOMETHINGS MISSING...
LEATHERFACE.INSTEAD OF HIM BEING IN THE MOVIE HE WAS REPLACED BY A GUY IN HIS MASK AND WITH A CHAINSAW BUT INSTEAD OF DOING WHAT LEATHERFACE DOES THIS GUY JUMPS UP AND DOWN ON THE SPOT LIKE A DEMENTED,CONSTAPATED RABBIT THEN DANCES AND HUMPS WITH HIS CHAINSAW.I ATTEMPED TO SHOW FRIENDS HOW GOOD LEATHERFACE AND THE SERIES WAS SO I THOUGHT SINCE I HADNT SEEN THIS YET I PUT THIS ON AND IT WASNT LONG BEFORE I SUNK IN MY SEAT OF EMBARRASSMENT FOLLOWED BY FRUSTRATION WATCHING THIS SO CALLED LEATHERFACE JIGG ABOUT WITH A CHAINSAW.
NOT SURE WHAT WENT WRONG HERE BUT HOPPER IS THE ONLY REASON I GIVE THIS 2 RATHER THAN 1.EVEN THE NEXT GENERATION IS MUCH BETTER AND THAT PANNED.
