From the outset I will make a confession, this television replaces a 16 year old Sharp portable, which was first used as a crude monitor for an Amiga 500! Now this has advantages and disadvantages when it comes to making comparisons; the features of any new television will blow the Sharp out of the water, but a replacement has a lot to live up to in terms of reliability.

Connectivity. The unit features a single SCART socket, this will disappoint some; but I'm guessing that the manfacturers thought "Hey we're giving you integrated freeview and DVD player, so what else do you need to plug in". Just in case a set of RCA/Video connections with headphone socket is provided on the side of the TV, which a suitable adaptor would allow to fill in for a 2nd SCART, or provide a basic connection for a camcorder. There's no HDMI socket, but as this is an SD model this is expected. One bonus is the ability to go back to the days of the Amiga and use the TV as your monitor with the SVGA socket included.

Features. Seperate analogue and digital tuners; with no recording equipment on board, some will question why this is so. There are advantages to be had by having an analogue tuner in a few cases. First areas where the digital signal will be pathetic until switchover. Second for those who live on the fringe of a second region, and watch local programming; analogue signals generally cover larger areas than digital. Third if you just can't stand the slowness of digital text. Fourth if you intend to pipe RF from a security camera or satellite or cable box in another room. The ability to use the TV as monitor works fairly well (although I would still use seperate TV and monitor), and I am currently setting up my laptop to let my watch programmes on internet catch up services like iplayer and 4OD. The DVD is basic, but serviceable, and does play both press and burned DVDs (and can be made multi region by means of a code I am told). Two DVD complaints, firstly the DVD player will not handle mp3 files; secondly the only means of zooming in on a cinemascope DVD is by means of the LCD mode button. This is useful as it allows the viewer to do the same with widescreen TV pictures, but there is only one level of zoom, which could leave huge black bands on some films.

Picture & Sound. I suspect that this could be said of any LCD TV, but the picture quality is vastly sharper than that of even a better CRT; even on anologue channels the picture is pin sharp. The sound is stereo perfectly adequate, and the volume range is excellent (I can genuinely hear the TV, at volume 1 or 2 out of 50).

Setup. Setting up the analogue TV is easy, and more importantly automatic, with the ability to adjust the channel order easily should you be dissatisfied with the end result of the auto tuning. The digital TV is slightly more trick to tune, again it is quick and automatic, but the DTV menu button is cunningly hidden at the bottom of the remote.

Some final points. Firstly the viewable angle on the LCD could be better, but I suspect this is a matter of getting what one pays for; a TV turntable can circumvent this problem. Secondly, the DVD player lights up blue while in use, which is cool, but totally unnecessary. There is only a standby button, however I am told standby is very low power. Lastly, I have heard some complaints about DVD failure on some units, so check that you have some warranty and your receipt.

All in all the TV is superb, and a great space-saver.

Broken Item & I've never got refund
Review created: 15/10/08

Have been a member for 7 years and always have good experience using ebay. But this was the most (only one) stressful experience I've ever encountered - Unluckily quite an expensive one. Received item quickly but it was poorly wrapped (with dirty old newspapers and old undersized box). Worst still, the first thing I saw were about ten pieces of broken plastic inside the package. Opened and found the whole DVD drive was broken. The item was old and scratched. Returned same day just to make sure the seller won't use the 7-day return policy to refuse refund. Sent an email through ebay but got an arrogant reply saying 'it's not my fault...must be broken in transit' etc. Kept asking him for a refund but kept on saying that he hasn't received the return item. Of course I have no proof if he said he has not got it. But the whole experience told me not to use ebay to buy item more than a few pounds. A lost of more than £100 pounds and the stress really put me off. I still remembered dragging my 2 children to the post office to send the broken item back that hectic afternoon. As a working mum, I didn't even have time to leave a negative feedback on time to stop people from buying from this seller. Glad to see this chance to release my anger and frustration about this purchase - actually a loss - I never got the item but lost the money!

This basic little LCD TV has everything you could want. The picture is really excellent and the whole unit is very user-friendly use. There is built-in Freeview and a handy little DVD player which also plays audio CD's. I use this in a bedroom and it's like having a whole entertainment system in the room....at a ridiculously low price. This little beauty set me back only £100. Can't be bad.

Brand New iPhone 3GS for nothing!!
Review created: 23/06/09

The Free iPhone Guide

To get yourself a free iPhone, iPod Touch, or the latest Macbook Air all you have to do is follow the 3 easy steps:

Step 1 : Sign up for a free Gift
Sign up at the link below to get your free gift. We recommend this free gift site because it's been TRIED and TESTED to work.

http://apple.freebiejeebies.co.uk/45 (copy and paste into address bar)

You can choose other prizes like free iMacs from this site too! Make sure you use a real email address. Use your real details when you sign up so that the company knows where to send your gift! Remember that they have been proven legitimate, so will send you your free gift if you do everything legitimately!

Step 2 : Try an advertiser's offer
Basically all you need to do in this step is complete one of the offers, this is where the freebie site make their money, if you complete an offer then the freebie site will recieve commission for it. So if you complete Coral which will only cost you £5 to complete, the freebie site gets £25 from Coral. The two best offers are Lovefilm Free DVD rental trial (where you rent any two DVD's for free!) and Coral (bet £5 on a sport). I would reccommend you do Coral as it credits in an hour and is really simple to do, Lovefilm however can become complicated and takes up to 4 weeks to credit! You can also try one of the other offers, most are gambling offers. Don't skip this step! You must complete this step to get your free gift!

Step 3 : Refer some friends

This part is a lot easier than it seems, especially now with free gift sites getting so popular. There's lots of people online who want a free iPhone, Touch or macbook too, so start referring them! You only need to get a few signups before you'll be finished. You can ask your friends or your online buddies. I already got a free iPhone without even having to ask my friends for help - there's lots of people online who want a free iPhone like you! One of the easiest ways to get a referral is to do a favour for a friend and ask them to sign up in return. That way, you both can get a free gift!

Basic rules
Don't break these rules! This is the only reason that you won't get your free gift, so make sure you follow these rules!

- One account per household - don't use a public computer to sign up!
- Use real information - this is a proven legitimate site and they will not give out your information.
- Only complete each offer once! You cannot complete the same offer again, even for different freebies.
- Don't try to cheat the system. This site has been proven legitimate, and they will catch you if you try to cheat. If you do everything legitimately, by following this guide, you will get a free gift!

Thats all, just follow my guide and you will have your free gift in no time.

It's very expensive, however, I found www.yourfreeconsole.co.uk and got one for free!
As you probably know, it's an expensive item for what it is... But, I didn't exactly pay for mine because I found a totally legal way of getting gifts like this for free!

Visit: www.yourfreeconsole.co.uk
I'm still receiving gifts like this, simply by completing offers like the FREE LOVEFiLM 14-Day Free Trial. There are many other offers that you can also complete. I personally think that this is the best offer as it's free!
There are many other gifts on this site aswell, not just this product, you can get any consoles, HDTVs, iPods, iPhones, you name it, you can probably get it. You can even get cheques or Bank Transfers!
Take a look as I found it very helpful

  Great value little TV
Review created: 09/11/08

Terrific value for money, as we wanted, now hanging proudly in the kitchen on its VESA wall mount doing TV, DVD & Radio (off the Freeview). Not super HD but very good picture nonetheless. The remote is a little fiddly and TV is slow to respond to it but, overall, very satisfied! Recommended.
