Album Notes
Tangerine Dream: Anou D'Merian (vocals); Edgar Froese (acoustic, electric & 12-string guitars, keyboards, drums); Mark Hornby (acoustic, electric & 12 string guitars); Jerome Froese (guitar, keyboards, drums); Gerald Gradwool (guitar); Dimitri Chiganioff (balalaika); Pawel Nyrouda (harp); Larry Hamilton (accordion); Roul Miller, Dean Clarke (trombone); Linda Spa (horn). Recorded at Eastgate Studio, Vienna, Austria between May and July 1996. Just what is this mysterious organization known as the Goblins' Club? If a brief, cryptic passage within the album's liner notes is any clue, we can surmise that goblins are those who perceive a fissure in the veil of reality. GOBLINS' CLUB pairs Edgar Froese with his son, Jerome, and is for the most part a major-key exercise in heroic motifs and choral backings. "At Darwin's Motel" layers Sanskrit vocals over synthesizers and a steady techno beat, while "United Goblins Parade" is a graceful, expansive track with anthemic ambitions.
