Taken (DVD)

The daughter of an ex secret service man is "taken" by people traffickers to be sold into prostitution. Well that is until her father decides he is going to kill half of the criminal gangs in France to stop that happening !
Slightly predictable, but in a good way, this action thriller is a great watch which I thoroughly enjoyed.

This is the best action/thriller I've seen in years. It got my attention from the word go, and I was glued to the screen throughout. I very much respect Liam Neeson for his acting, and for the way he carefully chooses his roles (only the best will do!). Once again he has come up trumps with this fantastic film which deserves every success.

Synopsis.

A retired government secret agent (Neeson) is forced to use his skill and combat when his teenage daughter and best friend get kidnapped whilst travelling in Europe.

Sometimes ludicrously violent action thriller about a retired spy going to Paris to find his daughter, who has been abducted by sex traffickers. Dad is not shy about using torture as he cuts a gruesome swathe through the low-lifes (mostly swarthy foreigners) who have his girl. Liam Neeson does a good job as the one-man-army.

UNREAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This film is a MUST HAVE!!!. Full of action, the fight scenes are similar to that of the Bourne films, only at first you would not expect this. Liam Neeson, plays the part of a divorced father who in the past has not been there much for his wife and daughter because of his work, BUT, what did he do??? Then his daughter takes a trip with a friend and is kidnapped by a ring. Her father tracks down the kidnappers and all HELL breaks loose!!!! I won't spoil it for you by going into too much detail but all I will say is, THIS FILM IS FANTASTIC!!! you won't be dissapointed. TC. ENJOY.

A very impressive rescue of a father looking for his lost daughter.
He was former spy so yet has many ways of finding people, fortunately, but his determination on rescueing was crucial, risking his life at all moment, very interesting situation solved in a very spectacular manner. I liked much this movie.

This film is absolutely brilliant. It is action packed and Liam Neeson who never really struck me as an action man,plays a very believable character. Well worth a look.

After about 15 minutes, the action starts and doesn't stop till the credits! Lots of gunfire, fighting and excitement. This, coupled with a couple of torture scenes and a decent (and believable) storyline, makes for an epic film. As said in the title, a must-see for anyone who likes a bit of action in their movies!

enjoy this film. Its very fast moving with no boring parts. So make your tea
ntor get your tipple before watching the movie. Its not very long so you
dont lose interest.

Definitely worth a watch. I'm not a Neeson fan but he does an alright job with this (although his accent drives me 'bonkers'!).

Good action throughout with a decent interrogation scene and although a little over zealous at times (if our spies were as good as that, Bin Laden would have been found YEARS ago) it's still an exciting hunt/chase film.

There are flaws in the story and a few bits that are too unbelievable but hey, it's only a film. And an enjoyable one at that. Go for it.

Definatly worth buying, as it is full action thriller. One of the best action films out in 2008. This is 80 minutes of pure fantastic action. Sure it maybe starts slow and have some plot holes but it's plain good action.

The, movie has an underlying tenet as regards activities in the world today.I bought this Dvd having read nothing but good reviews,and they were well founded.The movie gets up to speed quickly and keeps up the brisk action from start to finish. Liam Neeson is excellent as the world weary ex-government agent displaying, not only,an intimate knowledge of undercover techniques but also the worry and concern that all parents have for their children.He is believable as a dangerous adversary and while the numbers he manages to overcome is a little OTT,it does not distract from an excellent film on a par with the first 'Die Hard'.
The extras on 'the making' are also good.

watched in oringinally in my friends house and thought it was fantastic so i just had to buy it and i dont regret it coz its worth having

I HAD SEEN THE FLICKS OF THIS DVD BEFORE IT WAS RELEASED AND THOUGHT THIS WAS SOMETHING YOU DO NOT USUALLY SEE LIAM NEESON IN . IT TURNED OUT TO BE AN EXCELLENT CHOICE AS HE IS VERY CONVINCING IN THE ROLL OF OVER PROTECTIVE FATHER AND ALSO A BIT OF A WRECKING MACHINE WHEN HE LEARNS THAT HIS PRECIOUS DAUGHTER HAS BEEN KIDNAPPED . HE STOPS AT NOTHING TO GET TO HER AND PITY ANYONE WHO GETS IN THE WAY . A GREAT FILM THAT YOU WILL WATCH OVER AGAIN , LOTS OF ACTION FROM START TO FINISH. ENJOY .

If you like action films then this is a great film to watch, fast paced and keeps you on the edge of the sofa!

During a rare trip to the cinema I planned to watch Tropic Thunder however, the times were completely mixed up so i watched Taken. I am very glad I did. This is an amazing film. Liam Neeson is a great actor and the whole film is very well written. The action scenes are brilliant and the whole film is very suspenseful. Its the best action film i've seen in a long time. Great film.

Plot:

The seventeen year-old Kim is the pride and joy of her father, the retired agent Bryan Mills that left the secret service to stay near Kim in California. Kim lives with her mother Lenore and her wealthy stepfather Stuart; she convinces the reluctant Bryan to sign an authorization to travel to Paris with her friend Amanda. When they arrive, they share a cab with the stranger Peter and Amanda tells to him that they are alone in Paris. When Bryan succeeds in contacting his daughter, she tells that criminals have just break in the spot and they are kidnapped by an Albanese gang of human trafficking. Bryan promises in the phone to kill the kidnapper of his daughter and immediately travels to Paris to find Kim and chase the criminals.

this film is the best action one ive seen for a long time,its brill in every way and once you start watching it you wont want to move,action never stops from start to finish its ace,well worth watching.

Brilliant film one of the best ive watched in ages. Very action pact. keeps you on the edge of your seat. Seen it at work and had to buy it for my husband 10/10.

Absolutely fantastic film, on the edge of your seat from start to finish, well worth a look. This as gone in to the all time top 5 films to watch before you die.
