Brilliant French thriller about a prim Englishwoman who is lent a house in France and becomes, after her original disapproval, increasingly involved in the free-wheeling life of the lusty daughter of the house. Charlotte Rampling and Ludivine Sagnier star in Francois Ozon's fascinating film. (In English with some sub-titles).

) thought it was a clever, easy watchable yarn. Thouroughly enjoyable and good acting. I decided to buy this as i had seen it on tv and really enjoyed it. Is one of these films which you will watch time and time again. Reminds me of an Agatha Christie crime

swimming pool starring Charlotte Rampling.Fabulous film! Charlotte rampling playing the lead part as a writer,frustrated with life, and looking for inspiration for her next book .
After being offered the use of a beautiful house in the south of france ,by her publisher,for a well needed rest, she finds herself enjoying the sights and sounds of her surroundings and starts to unwind,only to be rudely interrupted by the arrival of the daughter of her publisher!
Full of intrigue,sensuous and shocking,the full awakening of the plot coming to light only at the very end!
I have always liked this film, so decided to add it to my collection, my only negative, although purely a personal one ,is that i would have like to have seen more views of the beautiful french countryside and village life.

Bloody excellent... full of twists and turns and incredibly explicit. Very well filmed and the actors should have gotten bafta's for this piece of work. How this film had me gripped and moved is quite amazing. Very deep and meaningul - the later life a woman 'feels' - looking at younger beauty - letting herself relax and emerge the butterfly she is as an older woman - with murder in mind ==== brilliant film!!
