A brilliant collection of Supertramp's best period. Opening with the epic 'school' and having several other tracks from the splendid 'crime of the century' LP, it is a must for those who, like me, have the originals on vinyl but would like some (or all) of these classics on their phone/mp3 player. Buy it now even if you didn't grow up with this music.

a fine cd. unlike the more recent anthology this trims the track selection down to the singles & best album tracks with no obscurities or waste!

I bought this as I kept hearing various songs on the radio from this band.
Good memories growing up in the 70's - so thought time to google and find the cd. And this was the one. Recommended!!!

  Definitely worth buying

Bought this as heard "long Way home" on TV recently and felt very nostalgic. The tracks are great, but not sure about some of the lesser known ones. All in all, well worth buying. They don't make em like that anymore...says 40 + year old.....

  Even better than I remember!
Review created: 10/01/08

Only owning a rather elderly vinyl copy of "Crime of the Century" I thought I should upgrade to the complete greatest hits collection. I'm glad I did. In addition to my old favourites (without the scratches) including "Hide in Your Shell", "School" and (of course) "Dreamer" taking me back to my diffident teenage years, there are more classics than I would have remembered taken from their later albums. It was a joy to be reminded of the tremendous musical quality of the likes of "Breakfast in America" and "Goodbye Stranger". Originally intended as fodder for my Walkman, this CD has found its way into my CD changer and stayed there. Excellent!

This is a really cool album, with a lot of songs you have probably heard but never really knew who sang them.
Favourite song has to be-Give a little bit, its lovely.

  A fantastic nostalgic soundtrack....
Review created: 15/11/06

The Very Best of Supertramp Vol.1 is a fantastic album, and takes me back to my childhood when I first heard them, resulting in the theft of the CD from my dad's collection.

Featuring classic records such as "Give a little bit" which those young enough to remember was featured on a GAP advert some years ago, please the "Logical song" which was horrendously ripped off by some Dutch, probably, trance outfit. Suffice to say, this best of album, serves up a right treat. And I can confidently say that there isn't a track on there that I don't like.... a welcomed addition to my eclectic Ipod selection. And with prices of around £5, you would be foolish not to get your hands on a copy.

Tracklising as follows:

1. School
2. Goodbye Stranger
3. The Logical Song
4. Bloody Well Right
5. Breakfast In America
6. Rudy
7. Take The Long Way Home
8. Crime Of The Century
9. Dreamer
10. Ain't Nobody But Me
11. Hide In Your Shell
12. From Now On
13. Give A Little Bit
14. It's Raining Again
15. Cannonball

Review created: 01/06/06

I got this from Ebay because its out of production and for £5. Listen to it all the time. Takes me back to my youth when I use to listen to them all the time. Shows you how old I am!
