Super Mario Bros - The Original Motion Picture (DVD)

When I first saw this years ago, I thought how can they make a film based on a computer game last?
Well I was very suprised,here is a fun film for the whole family, its got good guys, bad guys and a princess (well I happen to be a fan of Samantha Mathis.)
If you want to lose yourself in fantasy (which seems to have come on in leaps and bounds hence the success of harry Potter and Lord of the Rings etc).then this is worth watching, watch for the elevator scene its a hoot.

The reason I bought it is because my son watches the Mario cartoons and Id remembered that the film had been made starring Bob Hoskins. As Id recalled it got a terrible write up and is in fact awful but I thought my 6 year old is no film critic and so I got it for him and he loved it!

Love the slapstick comedy and the special effects are really good when you consider the age of this film.
Bought it because the video we had recorded from the TV years ago had worn out after being watched so many times by the kids...
Best bit? When the Goombas start waltzing in the lift!

Brilliant film to watch with all the doom and gloom around. I fully recommend this for the whole family, even the grand children loved it.

at least it's not just me who thinks back to happier memories - my teenage son loves this movie and it's great to be able to get on dvd instead of video - happy watching!!
