What a great surprise !!

Being a great Slipknot lover, I thought I'd check this out as Corey Taylor was bound to stamp his mark all over it. But what sort of mark? A softer, rockier style than the slapface style of the numbered ones, or a teeth-drilling mindblower.
What I got was a cross between the two; a fine record with some superb shred moments, a more thoughtful lyrical form that I took to, and no feeling whatsoever that this was a gap-filling side project for two Slipknot stalwarts to make a bit of extra cash.
I thoroughly recommend this album; if you're a hard rock/metal fan, you can't go wrong with this, and it is vastly superior to their latest release.
A great debut from a band in their own right.
