Still Game - Series 1-5 (DVD)

This is one of the funniest programmes on TV – the wit and banter of the characters and the situations they find themselves in will have you laughing out loud. Glasgow’s ‘Odd Couple’ Jack and Victor, two widowed pensioners, are best of pals. They spend most of their time together and grew up together. They banter back and forth, take the mick out of each other and prop up the bar in the Clansman together, whilst taking the mick out of barman Bobby and scrounging tight fisted Tam. Their pals, Winston (as sharp as they come), Isa (a gossip and social detective) and shopkeeper Navid (witty and game for a laugh) complete the line up. They all live in Craiglang, a run down area of Glasgow. The language is a bit choice but not over the top, and their favourite expression is ‘shut yer hole!’ Great characters, storylines and friendship make this an absolute winner.

This got to be the funniest thing to come out of Scotland ever,forget the big yen this leaves him standing.Why this has never been on English television I dont know compaired to the rubbish we are forced to watch on the BBC this is first class adult entertainment.Yes ther is bad laungage but no F words just normal everyday cussing.This on a par with Faulty Towers,Only Fools and Horses and Open all Hours.There is a story all the way through sometimes quite sad but most of the time it will have you in stitches.SO WAKE UP THE BBC AND GET IT ON ENGLISH TV.

As I am getting to the age of Victor and Jack I thought that I would buy this Set to give me a few tips in how to handle myself? Well if I had the laughs and all round good times those two old guys have then I will be satisfied.
I love Still Game and have all of the series and specials, it just so entertaining to watch. Great acting and superb comedy are not that common these days, but in Still Game you get it all. Loved it.

Once again a great comedy series from the BBC Scotland about two old pensioner pals that have known and grown up together since childhood. Following them through daily life on a Scottish council estate. My wife laughs at it even though she says she can't understand half of what they say. They say laughter helps you feel young well I am 50 and think it's brilliant. If you liked Rab C Nesbitt you'll love this.

I love this show because it is bitingly funny,doesn't pull punches and is still broad enough for young and old to appreciate.The scottish accents are very strong but for those who have trouble understanding there is a subtitle option(which in my opinion,you won't really need as you quickly attune to the accent).Please don't let the subject matter(pensioners) put you off.It definately isn't Last of the summer wine.It's edgy,very current and theres no tin bath in site.The characters are all played by younger people in real life and I couldn't recommend this enough.It is a spin off from a scotish sketch show whose name escapes me and I guarentee you'll belly laugh through every episode.

Follow the lives of 2 of glasgow's finest Jack and Vincent aas the follow lifes ups and downs. Hugely funny sit com about 2 pensioners an d the trouble that always seems to follow them. Fancy a good laugh? fancy spending 30 minutes with 2 old pals? then Still Game is just for you. Laughs galore.

this box set was recommended by a bloke unloading my truck in scotland so i decided to buy it and see what the fuss was all about. Well all i can say was i was wetting myself with laughter. So i have bought another set and sent it to my brother in florida u.s.a and he loves it to so i would recommend this box set to anyone, its like rab.c.nesbitt,max and paddy,2 pints of lager and bag of crisps rolled into one, well worth watching with a beer..

Still game is absolutely hilarious, it is something that you can watch time and again and still find it funny.

I bought this item after watching,a few episodes, on the television of the last series.The box-set contains over 15 hours of some of the best comedy,of modern day television.I would compare this comedy,to the old classics,like Only fools and horses.Where you can watch repeated episodes,again and again,without getting bored,or failing to laugh.The price of the boxset is of exceptional value, in todays,value for money,society.

This is a comedy masterpiece.
I ve watched it over and over , the whole series, and it just gets better.
Witty, gritty, realistic and non stop belly busting laughs, you wont be sorry, buy the whole series, if you just buy the episodes you ll want more, the complete series will work out far cheaper for you.
The humour and language are probably better understood by Scots, or people who have lived in Scotland for some time.

i saw one episode on bbc2 earlier in the year and i was hooked...so i got the box set of still game series 1-5 on ebay and once i started watching it i couldn't stop. i sat and watched every episode on every dvd all the way through back to back and i have never laughed so much...now my son has borrowed it and im finding it difficult to get it back from him as he finds it so funny too!!
if you want a good laugh this is the comedy dvd i would highly recommend you buy.

i watched a couple of episodes in a pub while on holiday in magaluf enjoyed them so much when i came home and bought a box set from ebay and have not stopped playing them fantastic price for six dvds

Great comedy if you like something like Rab C Nesbitt. Have to understand scottish slang in some of them to understand some of the jokes. Great litle gift for your parents or grandparents if they are into things like this. =]

absolutely first class comedy from start to finish and totally moreish just wish there were more comedies to watch which were as funny! worth every penny

i love the characters in this series its also great to watch whenever i want as when it was on tv i used to miss episodes due to work.its also one of the funniest series ever if you love the scots accent and humour.magic big man......

Bought this dvd as a gift my Nephew.He has had hours of fun watching the series it was a great buy.If i had bought it in store it would have been three times as much money as i paid for it on Ebay

this is the best comedy series that i have ever seen in years laugh a minute,
bought series 1to 5 complete which is all they made upto now cant wait for a new series although ive been told by a freind in scotland there will not be anymore i hope this is untrue can anyone tell me ?????????
