Steven King's IT Ric's Review

This excellent tail from Steven King is both thrilling and frightening. A group of older men, in their fourties, look back to a childhood that has mysteriously been forgotten about. As they, one-by-one, begin to remember their childhoods they also begin to remember the horror of their past lives in the town which they grew up.
The history of the town is also shrouded in mystery: every thirty years, or so, a murderous event happens in which a considerable amount of people die. The group of people involved, dubbed the "magnificent seven," have been through the horror once before when they were children and now they reform put an end to the mysterious deaths.
When the "magnificent seven" were ten year-old children they soon descovered what was behind the horrendous murders: something that takes the form of their worst nightmares and they call "It." Their mission on returning to their home town is to find It and kill It.
The film stars one of my favourite actors Tim Curry. This was a good choice to cast him as the super scarey Penniwise, because his voice sticks in your mind for days with lines like "Beep, beep Richie" and "They all float down here."
After reading the book, however, I found that the film had vital pieces missing in the story; like what happened to Eddie when he was ten years-old? Also Ben Hanscome's side of the story is much more scary in the book, but then books always are better.
Nevertheless, this film is a classic, and a brilliantly chilling adaption of Steven King's masterpiece. I would recommend anyone to buy this film and if you buy it you'll float too!
