Starship Troopers 2 - Hero Of The Federation (DVD 2004)

Bought this dvd because I loved the first one, with its' wit, satire and characters. This second film seemed much darker than that first one but is watchable nonetheless, if only for some extreme gore, especially later on.

Starship Troopers was a great "B" movie, cheezy, gory and fast. What happened next was an abomination against celluloid. Starship Troopers 2 should be burned. Not only did one of the actress' who died in the 1st movie turn up in the 2nd movie as a different character, but all of the action seemed to be slowed for some reason. I would rather stick a needle in YOUR eye, than watch this travesty of a film.

Boring scenario. poor special effects in places. acting average. Like a budget aliens movie.booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I loved the first film and so I had to buy the sequel. It doesn't focus on a large event of the war against the bugs and only one little incident of a group of soliders. The bugs are very creepy and look very realistic. The acting ranges from so-so to slightly poor however, the films use of ironic plot lines and story line gives this film a suspenseful and creepy atmosphere. Not like the first but in its own way, this is a great film.

Plot:

We are sent back to the battlefield, as the Federation's best Mobile Infantry unit are slowly being overpowered by the killer bugs. They are light years from the nearest reinforcements and are trapped on a remote outpost. They set up protection around the post, keeping all the bugs waiting for them to leave. But now the enemy is in the outpost, in a way which they would have never thought of.

Starship Troopers 2 tries to cash in on the success of the first film, and add a new slant to the story.
It is successful, and a good film in its own right. But as usual you cannot help but think I have seen this before somewhere.

i brought starship trropersas i havbe the other 2 films and enjoy watching them, they are in very good condition and i like science fiction films

i bought this film because i thoroughly enjoyed the first one. This second version although using the same format is best described as mind numbingly boring, go and mow the lawn or something it is far more interesting.

It's a great film that i would'nt expect as a sequile to the first one, i really liked this film, not as much as the first one but i did enjoy it alot

i decided to get this cuz i saw the first one which was pretty impressive...and i had to woch this cuz my friends suggested it...

A direct to video sequel of one of the greatest sci-fi epics of all time, this is exactly what you would expect: static, low budget, derivative, horribly acted and bearing only the slightest resemblance to the original. The FX are laughable, the acting atrocious, the plot straight out of many previous sci-fi ditties like THE HIDDEN and THE THING and BLADE RUNNER. One of the things that made the original such a masterpiece is that it is first and foremost a brilliant satire, and a sci-fi epic second. The sequel jettisons any attempt at satire and sticks several people on a single set for the majority of the flick. The only thing that makes it worthwile is some truly disgusting gore effects in the second half. Also, there is a ravishing if scary young blonde who is horny and nekkid in many of her scenes. Plus an amply endowed captain (who played a small role in the first movie) struts around in a very tight and very low cut wife beater in the second half.

A brilliant horror/action this film as both horror and action packed, the bugs will jump out and come from everywhere whicj will keep you on the edge of the seat also there are explotions and fihgting all the way through. This film also as the best story line ever which will make you continue watching it.
