In this rapid-fire sequel to the cult favourite, Starship Troopers, the Federation's best mobile infantry unit goes back into action against the Bug horde. But this time, the bugs are waiting for them.
Trapped on a remote outpost light years from the nearest reinforcements, a small group of soilders fights an enemy smarter and more cunning than any they've ever faced.
Now they must join forces with an infamous traitor to the Federation if they are to have any hope. And it's not just their lives at stake , it's the survival of the Human Race.
If they want to live, they'll have to use their heads before the bugs do!
That's the blurb...but nooooooooooo!
It's really, really bad. So bad, it's an insult to the first Starship Troopers which was excellent.
I think they hasd a low budget, because it's practically shot in one location throughout the whole film.
It's has none of the edge of the first movie, poor casting, acting and direction.
Sorry, but this is what gives sequels a bad name.

After watching the first starship troopers (which was AWESOME) i was very much looking forward to watching the sequel. unfortuantly i was left disapointed!!! the whole film is basically set in this one location and you hardly get to see any bugs??? trust me when i tell you that you will find yourself nodding off while watching this movie as it is so boring!!! a real shame as it had potential. ONE TO AVOID

) I'd read some dire reviews of this film before I bought the dvd, but the price was right, and I knew this latter-day sequel had been directed by the special effects wizard from the original (Phil Tippett, who also did Jurassic Park), so I thought I'd take a chance.
I'm glad I did. Those expecting the grand, epic sweep and satirical tone of the first film should perhaps look elsewhere, but the budget restrictions which seem to have been unjustly imposed on the director here do tend to convert necessity into a virtue. The grim isolation of a desperate bunch of fighters trapped in a tower on a desolate planet is undeniably powerfully recreated, the acting is adequate or a little better, and though we are eventually led into familiar stock horror film territory when the special effects money seems to run out and the Enemy Without becomes the Enemy Within, it nonetheless holds the attention. There are many, many worse sci-fi and horror pictures out there. Try it on a Saturday night when there's nothing else doing.
