Stargate - The Ark Of Truth (DVD)

I was devistated when i found out that they were not making a season 11. I have watched all 10 seasons before as well as all 3 seasons of Atlantis, When i heard about this film i instantly went out and brought it. I was over the moon, Brilliant storyline and fantastic special effects. I will highly recommend this stargate film to everyone.

As a big Stargate fan we loved this film. We bought via Ebay to save a few pounds and add to our Stargate collection. Fab film.

Another great film from the makers of STARGATE, only this time it was actually a full length movie. MORE PLEASE. This was originally a 2 partner from the tv series, but you couldn't fault it for it's brilliance & quick pace, can't wait for "CONTINUUM", IF THATS HOW IT'S SPELT.

After many seasons battling the Ga'uld the whole Ori storyline felt like a whirlwind rush; everyone seemed to getting tired of the SG1 idea and this film ending to Ori story, I feel, continues that impression. It is good to have a conclusion to season ten and visually it works - hence the "good" rating.

Excellant ending to the greatest Sci-fi saga ever created.The film is everything you would expect if you are a fan of the series ending leaves you thinking maybe more.

Oh I so wanted to be blown away by this film. But I wasn't. Don't get me wrong, it was enjoyable, but not brilliant.

I think the Director must have decided that feature film meant large epic landscape shots. Which were lovely, but didn't really add to the story.

No RDA, but pretty much everyone else was there (except Major Davis - bring back Colin Cunningham!).

The story tied up the loose ends of Series 10, but it just felt like a large episode. It didn't feel like a film.

I thought Vala didn't really feature enough, and Cam featured a little too much. But I guess its difficult to give everyone equal screen time.

I won't spoil the story but the interesting twist badguys, but that was probably the best bit!

I've scored this only as an "Average" because I was really hoping for more.

the Ark of Truth was clearly made to tie up the loose ends that were left when Stargate SG-1 finished with Season 10. For avid SG-1 fans this is the ending that Season 10 was missing and which needed to be told to satisfy the appetites of those who were robbed of their last meal after a decade of following the exploits of SG-1.

The Ark Of Truth lives up the hype of fans hoping for an epic end to the storyline that drove the show's final two seasons. Indeed, The Ark Of Truth proves to be both an epic and fitting end to the Ori storyline. There were no major surprises, but it was carried off very well. In the end it felt more like an extended episode of Stargate SG-1 than a blockbuster movie in its own right but as an SG-1 fan I came away happy.

For those unfamiliar with the SG-1 series I would advise holding off until you have seen at least season 9 and 10 of Stargate SG-1 before embarking on The Ark of Truth as you may otherwise find yourself completely baffled as to who is who and what is going on.

Having watched it I can't help but wonder what the people who didn't like it were expecting; A cameo appearance by Elvis Presley? The secret of transmuting Lead into Gold?

Some people have complained that it wasn't a 'Film,' but merely two episodes of SG-1 that were shown back to back. But even though they could have easily replaced two of the `filler' episodes in series ten, they were still two of the best episodes ever made.

We might quibble about being charged an extra ten or fifteen pounds to see the end of the Ori story line, but I can't see how this could ever be a basis for disliking the film itself. And whilst at least one person has complained that you need to have watched most of SG-1 to really know what's happening, how could anyone `skip to the end' like this and not feel as if they didn't know what the heck was going on?

Whether it's actually the last two episodes of SG-1 or not, this film was made for the hardcore fans who were deeply engrossed in the story, not the uninterested people who just happened to flick past it one night on the sky one
At this point in a review of course, I would normally go into explicit detail about the ethical issues that SG-1 deal with, the incredible writing, the wonderful acting and the spectacular (but never gratuitous) special effects. But as far as this film is concerned though, I honestly don't feel there's any need.

If you loved the depth and soul of 'Stargate SG-1,' were moved by the intelligent and emotional storylines and watched it for something other than `The cool explosions and the bright pretty colours.' If you understand what I mean when I use words like Replicators and Asgard, Ancients and Ori, Doci, Priors, Jaffa and Shol'va. If you honestly understood SG-1 and felt gutted when the tenth series simply tailed off at the end, then I can almost guarantee that you will love this film.

This is a finish to the stargate sg1 series. Finishing off the ori story and a must for any true stargate fan.

I don't want to spoil this for anyone who hasn't watched it by giving the plot away - but I thought it could be better. Basically I felt it was just like a normal STARGATE SG1 episode but longer and with rather too many enemies to vanguish in one go! I am a fun of the series and watched all 10 seasons - some episodes more than once - and I could not help feeling this was thrown together for the money rather than as a real movie with something to say. Still a lot better than a lot of movies out there, so worth a watch in my book.

A must for all Stargate fans.
The film finishes off the story line from Season 10. With all of the cast from the series it works well as a feature length film. It has great special affects, and a great twist.
Well worth waiting for.

I am an avid Stargate SG-1 fan. And have religously watched all the seasons from 1-10 and the movie at the start.

I thought as with most TV series that are concluded on a series of films that part one of two of the conclusion of Stargte. The film Stargate: The Ark of Truth. Was like an extended version of a normal Stargate Episode.

The writers kept the storyline gripping and thrilling and most of the cast remains unchanged. Although the IOA Agent is not Senator Wolesley. The one they have chosen for the film nonetheless plays a very good if in some parts a lack luster role.

The film answers some questions and creates others.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film and I am awaiting Stargate: Continuum.

I've been a SG1 fan ever since it began and i've thoughly enjoyed it, specially when they have done individual episodes with a whole story, got to say they were my favourites as i didn't have to wait till the following week to watch part 2 3 4 etc. When it got like that i stopped watching it and waited for the whole season to come out! (i ended up buying the lot!) I was very relieved to see that they kept most of the original characters (missed are Jack) and picked some brilliant new ones ie Ben Browder and Claudia Black who have worked together before on Farscape another brilliant series. This film was good, special effects excellent and the ending surperb as its given us SG1 fans hope for another feature lenght film only wished it was longer, perfect end to series 10.
