Stardust (DVD)

Stardust' is a wonderful fairytale that you can completely lose yourself in and enjoy the magical world created for you. I was surprised at just how good this film was and it reminded me of the fantasy adventures I watched and loved as a child and that never seemed to be beaten by modern films. The cast is great with Pfiefer, De Niro, Clare Danes and a whole host of British comedy actors to bolster this already impressive role call. This has a great story about a boy falling in love with a falling star and how he has to protect her from witches and evil princes' who wish to find her for their own sinister reasons. This is a VERY basic description of the storyline and the various twist and turns make for a spellbinding and captivating story. It is acted well by all involved, the direction is superb, the special effects match the fairytale and magic themes perfectly and the overall package achieves what it sets out to extremely well. I was heartily impressed by this film and all the more so for not expecting it to be as good as it was. This is a top fantasy adventure and makes for an afternoons excellent entertainment for all the family. Michelle Pfeiffer is a yummy witch what can i say about that, she can cast a spell on me anytime.
