Star Wars - Episode 2 - Attack Of The Clones (DVD 2004)

as i said...its the attention to poignant detail that make this so good! There are many parts of this film that if you are a Star Wars fan (like me), you just cannot miss! Much of it you expect to be good (the lightsaber battles for instance...especially Yoda's). But the image burned into my mind...picture a small boy...moments after the heat and terror of battle...crouching down...and picking up a helmet...containing the severed head of his father...severed by the Jedi. that moment was priceless! its moments like these that make Mr Lucas and his crew geniuses in my book. If you haven't seen this yet - Watch it!not because its a Star Wars movie...but because it is the prelude to the pinnacle of Mr Lucas's lifes work!

Being a keen fan of the original Star Wars ('77) I was disappointed with the "new" episodes until rewatching for the second time around. Although the last (first!) three films were great in terms of special effects, sounds and stunts, I felt that they all lacked the "originality" of the space dream. The orginals were so unique in terms of motion pictue advancement but also the scripts, actions and characters seem somehow more real. Perhaps we are all just getting too used to the advancement in todays studio outputs, or are we?

An average second installment to Lucas's prequel trilogy. The ending flatters to decieve with numerous action scenes piled on top of one another, lulling you into forgetting how verbose and tedious the first half is. The action scenes are mainly fine, and the light sabre duel with Yoda a real crowd pleaser, but are armies in the future really going to line up against each other like some Napoleonic encouter. The script and acting is often wooden but they never were the reason you are going to watch a star wars film. If you edited this and Phnatom together you'd get a pretty fine film. Good popcorn fodder.

10 years have passed since Episode One, and my how Anakin Skywalker has grown. We seem him here as an arrogant, but insecure young man, full of dreams of becoming the most powerful jedi ever, fears for his mother, and anger over his treatment. A typical teenager, basically. Now a wiser Obi Wan Kenobi must try to keep his padawan in line. Not easy to do once he’s been reunited with the girl of his dreams, Padme Amidala, now Senator for Naboo.

Beginning with an attempted assassination of Amidala, our two heroes are soon separated, as Obi Wan is sent to hunt down those behind the attack, while Anakin is given the task to protect the senator, a mission which can only lead to romance. The film winds it’s way happily through all this towards the planet Geonosis and a spectacular battle finale between Jedi and the droid armies, the first conflict of the Clone Wars we’ve all heard so much about. Even Yoda gets his lightsabre out, and it’s well worth the wait.

Definitely an improvement over Episode I, although still not quite reaching the heights of the original trilogy. The dark side gets darker with Christopher Lee superbly playing ex-Jedi-turned-separatist Count Dooku, while the good guys do their best to stop them (Ewan MacGregor has settled into Obi-Wan’s role perfectly). It sets it all up perfectly for Episode III.

PS Jar-Jar Binks is rarely seen. Thank God!!

The person who i bought the film off is a nipple.. advertised as brand new but ended up being a BAD COPY.. just make sure you buy things off a good ebayer .. not a nipple

thought it was brilliant - a great great film, special effects class and action sequences live up to the name.

After the average Episode I George Lucas makes a much better job of this one. There are still a few awkward scenes with wooden acting and dialogue but by half way there is non stop action and excitement. The action and special effects are very good and Yoda finally gets off his bum and joins the fight ! With this 2 dvd set you also get bonus scenes, commentaries and documentaries. Overall a great Star Wars movie and a great dvd package !

I brought the dvd for my sons, To complete the collection they have, They both enjoyed watching the dvd.

I bought this DVD as a Christmas present for my Grandson - he particularly requested it. I have not seen it myself.

We all love the star wars saga!! This dvd arrived with a speedy delivery. The dvd is 100 % geniune and played perfectly. The packaging was in perfect condition to. However after i bought product I found it to be cheaper on a more branded website/shop.

Loved this one as the love story is really strong...

This product was never and has still not been dispatched despite paying for on paypal on 22nd August, I am extremely irrate as I am a 100% e-bayer and have not come across a deal like this, I realise its only a small amount but this person is taking these amounts ilegally, I am dealing with paypal at the moment over this amount! this completed my husband's star wars dvd collection. i bought it as a git for him. he enjoys all these films and watches them over and over. i just have to deal with it!

Great film, my favorite of all the star wars films. This is where you see the transformation of darth vader. It was a bargain.

following the first episode fo the star wars saga, we see the jedi coucil struggling to control the war opposing them from the dark side of the worce, whilst for young anakin skywalker, now taken on by obi-wan kenobi as apprentice, struggles with his love for padme amidala. whilst waging war upon the dark side, the film unravells the plot of the sith and comes to a final cataclismic showdown between yoda, and the evil darth tyrranous! all star cast of ewan mc gregor as obi wan, natalie portman as padme and samuel l jackson as mace windu and christopher lee as count dooku. five star!

This film I found mostly to be of adequate length. It had the right amount of characters in it and also a good quantity of the film was put aside to explain the general story line. for these reasons alone it is nice. Also the special effects, which i believe are called FX in the film making business, i found to be quite good. The cover of the film was also nice. Amen. in summary then ...

I have just acquired a Panasonic Blu-ray player that also upscales the detail and colour of a normal DVD. I thought this Star Wars presentation would be a good way of checking out how well this facility performs. And the result? Fantastic!

Film two is far better than the First, and the Third film better still, so get bidding and with a little luck you can buy all three for well under £20.00 as i did........Money well spent for any Star Wars fan me thinks!!!
