The Voyage continues

For me this is where Voyager really starts to hold its own. With the first season done and dusted with success; Star Trek Voyager Season 2 starts to develop the sarga and goes where no other star trek has gone before, or does it?
Some of the old time producers of star trek rank season 2 of voyager within the top 5 and it’s not hard to see why. There is a lot of excellent work in this season with some original storylines.
I didn’t rate season 1 much as it stuck a lot to what we have seen before however; with season 2 you can start to see they have pushed the creative boundaries.
A lot of people compared and complained Voyager was too like the Next Generation but with the same creative writer, you can see how that happened. I personally do not think that is a bad thing though and most of the episodes are entertaining. Season 2 also boasts quest stars and guest directors like Levar Burton and Jonathon Frankes. Also well liked characters such as the Q and Commander Riker also make an appearance.
All in all this is an excellent little series and I am happy the producers decided to get out of the safe zone and raise the bar. I look forward to continue the voyage.
