Two captains. One destiny.

Stardate: the 23rd Century. Retired Starfleet officers James T. Kirk, Montgomery Scott and Pavel Chekov are guests of honor aboard the newly christened Enterprise-B. A test run takes an unexpected turn, however, when the starship encounters two vessels trapped inside the Nexus, a mysterious energy ribbon. During a perilous rescue attempt, Kirk is swept out into space.

Seven decades later, Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of Enterprise-D rescue an El Aurian physicist named Soran. Unbeknownst to Picard, Soran harbors a deadly plan that includes the destruction of the Enterprise and millions of lives. Now Picard's only hope for a future rests within in the Nexus...and a legendary captain from the past.

Star Trek 7 : Generations (DVD 2000)

I am a fan of star trek, when i heared they were about to make a joined venture of the new and old as such. I thought he story line would be a bit more adventure, i have still given a 5 for this film, the story line is a bit on the weak side, but you when you have william shatner in the film you know you have some great filmation. THE film does take a bit of time getting into, if you don,t follow the film very carefully you will miss the point of it, the story is a minature complex, i am really not sure the writer was doing, but too me the story of time-line was a bit heavy, anyway overall its enjoyable, the crew of the enterprises are fantastic, as a trekkie you will enjoy it!

so its 5 long live and propser....

A real classic fim with the technology of second generation and the humour of Kirk in a real Sci-Fi film for the family. Though I never will agree that the killing off of Captain Kirk should have happened. I bought the DVD to replace my trusty old video version, still a good buy.

Star Trek Generations - A Great DVD
Review created: 06/11/06

I first watched this film almost 10 years ago and instantly loved it. I was very excited when I was able to later buy it on VHS. Unfortunately, I then lost the Video roughly one year ago and have travelled on without my own copy of this film. It didnt take long foe me realise I missed the film and I began searching for the DVD immediately. This DVD has great picture quality, fantastic sound and, like most DVDs nowadays, is easy to manouvre throughout the film. This particular copy was widescreen, which helped bring me closer to the original cinematic experience. Finally, I sat down, relaxed and enjoyed the film. If anyone is in doubt about buying this DVD, if its the quality you'll recieve, dont worry! Its fab and easy to sit down and watch. If its the storyline you're worried about, again, it was the first of a Next Generation Series of films, and had a great plot with Captain Picard meeting Captain Kirk! Not only this, but the effects are not outdated and the characters are still the same old ones that we've all grown to love.

My verdict, as you can probably guess, is a definate yes. So I hope this helps with your decision to buy and enjoy.

  Star Trek for the Generations!
Review created: 06/06/09

What a film this is, not only Scotty, & Kirk, but another generation of Sulu and on top of that we also get to see Picard, Worf & Data.. This film may be a mishmash of characters but it is like looking back through the generations of Star Trek from the Next Generation to the original series, but with the ecitement and action we have come to expect from Gene Roddenberry (I hope I spelled that correctly)... Yet again the Enterprise jumps into actions as the Galaxy or Star Sytems are under threat ending in an explosive but fulfilling end to the film as we then see 4 enterprise ships go out among the stars.. A must see for all you trekies out there!!

Loved this film and have purchaed it to add to my DVD collection. Very pleased to find it on e-bay as it has been withdrawn from shops according to HMV.
This film is the best way to hand over the Star Trek torch from the old, Capt Kirk to the new, Capt Picard.
I have watched it numerous times and have now passed the Star Trek interest to my young nephew who is now a massive fan.

  Star Trek Generations

If you are a star trek fan this is just part of your star trek tool kit, excellently produced with some great graphics and simulation. Excellent acting as you would expect from a regular tv cast but obiously did well to follow on from the original with William Shatner staring. This gave a good hour or so's entertainment for me (not for the rest of the family who think i am nuts) but nevertheless a great movie with excellent effects. If you get the chance to own this DVD take it, in time i can see these being worth far more money than they are currentl available for when it stops being shown on TV so often, but its great to be able to watch it as and when i want.

A good intro to the Star Trek world

Not the best of the TNG films, but good none the less. An excellent introduction to the TNG characters generally, but a wonderful plumping out of the "lesser" characters from the series.

One of the best Trekkie movies with both Kirk and Picard and Malcolm McDowell as the Baddy. Good plotline and the usual standard of performance from all involved.

  Star Trek - Generations
Review created: 01/01/09

This is certainly one of the best Star Trek movies, highly enjoyable, with a superb cast from both the Next Generation series and the original Star Trek series, with the starring role surely going to William Shatner as Captain Kirk, he's funny and wonderfully cast!! Malcolm McDowell is superb as the evil villain of the story, even if his mad plan is understandable!! This really is a highly enjoyable film, and even if you're not a Next Generation fan, this movie certainly brings the old and new Star Trek's together, thus making it enjoyable for all to watch.

Star trek - Generations. A movie that bridges the 'gap' of a mere 80 years (apparently) between Capt.Kirk & Capt. JeanLuc Picard. A few nods of gratitude from one capt to another within the film make this more than just another trek'y romp. Still full of Kirks action and Picards philosophical styles.the two meld together like a vulcans facial grip.Thoroughly enjoyed this one-but has Capt Kirk died for the last time (again?)

  Trek, but not Trek.
Review created: 26/06/08

Well it was Star Trek, but not the usual high paced spacial warp driven spectacular we've all come to expect. Don't get me wrong, it was still a good film, but it gave me the feeling that it had been done on a much smaller budget, (saving on special effects?). Having said that, Kirk was his old self, and worked quite well with Picard. I did enjoy the film, but I wouldn't pay full price! A great film to get from the bargain bucket...

I've always liked this trek movie,my VHS copy was getting old.
So when I saw this DVD for sell I just had to bid.I won the item for the opening bid price, cost me £2.00 including P+P,first class.
If all sellers were as good as this Ebay would be a much better market place.
