Spooks - Series 3 - Complete (DVD)

I wanted to buy all of the first 3 series so looked on ebay as I thought they would be a bargain. BEWARE!!!!!!! You can get them brand new for £12 with no postage cost from HMV or Amazon. People are paying mad prices on ebay for them. Do your research before you buy any goods like this.

This is an explosive series with action all the way. With the departure of much loved agent Tom as he finds a consciences and Zoe is on trial for man slaughter in a government white wash and there has to be. Not least the introduction of new faces to series.

Stealth, Secrecy, Intrigue, Deception and that’s just their personal lives! For the first time ever we get a glimpse into the private lives as they juggle the role of spy with the role of family, lover and friends.

I would say it has not been as good as previous series Spooks, but no matter what it dishes out it is still the best ever series ever penned by the BBC. Well written, excellent acting and good direction = the best ever series ever produced in England so far.

As always a superb series - makes the BBC licence fee bearable! Adventurous,well acted and interesting locations with foreign intrigue, sabotage and underhand dealing with double agents. The stories seem to bear resemblance to today's news items and it is good to see Colin Firth well used after years of acting and having been a pin up himself!
The music adds to the tension and the situations, although escapism..are well thought out and touching at times bringing the relationships between the main characters under the microscope with their current affairs, lost loves and the curiosity of what may be..keep watching and enjoy..

I have watched Spooks on the telly from the very first series and have been hooked ever since. It is the best programme on the telly which i can't wait for to come around again. I am quite happy to pay my tv licence just for Spooks. :-)

I am, unashamedly, a massive fan of the series - but realised that I had not truly sat through the Tom/Adam changeover and thoroughly enjoyed it. The best thing about the boxed sets is the extras - it's interesting to hear from the directors and actors about why they decided on certain storylines to how the characters have developed within the series. I would certainly buy boxed sets only on E-Bay now as, frankly, I have not found them cheaper anywhere else and dislike paying even £20 for a set when they can be cheaper here! Just got Series Six, Seven Eight, Nine....... to get!

Excellent DVD set of the 3rd series. 3 characters depart and another 3 are introduced. Controversial storylines, fast action and double-crossing plots.

bought a 50p single dvd at a car boot showing the first episode of spooks, now fully hooked again and have purchased the full series 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 now looking for 6.

An avid fan of Rupert Penry Jones and could not resist the tremptation to catch up on old SPOOKS!!!

Its not the best series, but it's still full of great action, and believeable plots, just goes into the agents private lives a bit too much for my liking, overall its a fab series though.

This series was even better than the last. We really enjoyed it except for the baby snatch episode which was entirely gratuitous.

like everything it was in great condition and was great to watch. It was quiet sad when all the main characters left but the new characters were very entertaining to watch.

It was merely good contact, run everything perfectly, the shipping-costs somewhat highly, like to buy again with ebay UK otherwise

Love the whole spooks series and this one does not disappoint. One of the three top shows on British TV.

There is no point reading this review or buying this item unless you are up to speed with the previous two series, there is simply too much history and links to the characters and storylines in th opening episode. The 'previously' quick 'spooklette' at the begining, lasting maybe 40 seconds, cannot convey all that has gone before in the previous 12 episodes.

If you have seen the other two series then you will agree that the opening episode of series 3 is quite simply the best yet, nothing touches it.

It works because you know the characters, plots and interaction that preceeded it. Its nail biting and shocking. No one acts as predicited and the ending isn't predictable, I couldn't believe it when.... well you will see.

eBay is always the best source of good items at very resonable prices. This was a particularly GODD ONE!!
However - if you would like an overall comment - it would be nice to see bad sellers/payers 'cleaned out' and a rating by eBay itself on all users rather than leave it to the users themselves. I PARTICULARLY disliked it when I - quite reasonably - gave a seller a 'bad'/red rating (he failed to deliver the item at all or even contact me about it!!) at which point HE gave ME a bad rating!! I had little redress.... Being scr*wed by a bad seller is VERY unreasonable - isn't it!!?? Tony Newey
