The spirit of early Pink Floyd is mixed with the panoramic semi-prog of Radiohead as wah-wah guitars join swooping keyboards and complex latticeworks of feedback. PURE PHASE's greatest strength lies in it's dynamic range, as tender, breathy ballads give way to mind-bending free-for-alls in an album that paves the way for the band's 1997 masterwork LADIES AND GENTLEMEN WE ARE FLOATING IN SPACE.
