This is a cracking DVD, I found it from a clip, during a YouTube surfing session; I bought the DVD on the strength of the one clip. It was a good decision.
The DVD contains all episodes (13) from the 1st season, originally shown on MTV.
The action is set after the events of the 1st Spider-Man movie, this is a very mature and gritty interpretation of the character and makes the storylines very believable.
The PG rating is very appropriate if you are buying this for someone 14yrs or younger, I would definitely advise that you preview the whole DVD, as people do get killed and maimed.
My favorite episode was 'The Sword Of Shikata' and 'Keeping Secrets' was a close second. The extras on the DVD were interesting to watch as well.
I found the whole DVD very enjoyable and was disappointed that Season 2 had not been produced.
If this was produced by a more mainstream company with an advertising budget, I am certain it would have been more successful.
This is definitely worth a watch, as mentioned before it is made for a more mature audience, hence you are advised to vet the film if buying it for the younger audience.

I bought this for my 3 year old son, but the story aspect is far to heavy for him. It looks good but I was hoping for the lighthearted all action Spiderman of the 90's. For older kids who want a real storyline.

The animation is good however, although it's a 'PG' some episodes could be quite scary for children under 5. I bought it because my child who is 3 years old really likes Spider-Man however, next time I buy a Spider-man DVD I'll be looking for a 'U' rated one.

Purchased for my 3 year old son who's very excited about spiderman at the moment.
Wasn't sure what version of the animated classic to go for but very impressed with this version. As soon as I opened the package I realised that it was a double VDV set which was a great bonus ;-D
Starting from disc 1 the quality is excellent giving superb depth of colours and the graphics made the action scenes very real continuing to disc 2 - almost like being in the movie!
Highly recommended a great DVD for kids both young and old.

Loved the item but needed to know to change the audio setting to Dolby if playing on a TV without surround sound otherwise there is no sound with the picture.

excellentHaving converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this film gem in digital format. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included. There's only a 20-minute interview with the director and other shot "making-of" vignettes. dvd.My son loves it

Exelent animated series - the bestI bought it for my 4 years old son. It is good for kids to have heroes.
As I watched it, I realized that it differs from the ordinary animated series he used to watch on the tv.

Be cautious if for kidsThis was an enjoyable series for Spider-man geeks like me but I felt some episodes were a bit adult for my 3 year old. There is a lot of use of guns, swords etc including a beheading. There is a little bit of mild language in there too. This series seems to fit between movies 1&2 but does not include a lot of the better known characters. Kingpin and The Lizard make appearances but there are no Goblins, Octopuses, Sandmen or Venoms. Nonetheless for die hard fans of the franchise I am sure you will enjoy the beautiful recreation of Spidey just as I did.

Bought this for my 3 year old son whos really into Spiderman, the movies are a bit too grown up for him and a little hard to follow so this DVD is excellent. My son loves it and watches it alot, as it has 2 DVD's with 4/5 episodes on each so its real good value for money.
Would reccommend this for young children as it is animated although is ideal for anyone as it has real good story lines.
