Spider-Man - The Animated Series (DVD 2004)

This is a cracking DVD, I found it from a clip, during a YouTube surfing session; I bought the DVD on the strength of the one clip. It was a good decision.

The DVD contains all episodes (13) from the 1st season, originally shown on MTV.

The action is set after the events of the 1st Spider-Man movie, this is a very mature and gritty interpretation of the character and makes the storylines very believable.

The PG rating is very appropriate if you are buying this for someone 14yrs or younger, I would definitely advise that you preview the whole DVD, as people do get killed and maimed.

My favorite episode was 'The Sword Of Shikata' and 'Keeping Secrets' was a close second. The extras on the DVD were interesting to watch as well.

I found the whole DVD very enjoyable and was disappointed that Season 2 had not been produced.

If this was produced by a more mainstream company with an advertising budget, I am certain it would have been more successful.

This is definitely worth a watch, as mentioned before it is made for a more mature audience, hence you are advised to vet the film if buying it for the younger audience.
