When a creature, geneticaly engineered through extraterrestrial intelligence, escapes from observation, scientist Xavier Fitch (Kingsley) assembles an elite team of experts to track it down. The crew - a government assassin (Madsen), an empath (Whitaker), a biologist (Helgenberger) and an anthropologist (Molina) - combines their expertise and traces their prey to Los Angeles. There, in the form of a stunning young woman (Henstridge), the alien initiates a horrific plan to mate with unsuspecting men and produce offspring that could destroy mankind. I'm a big fan of HR Giger's artwork and this film portrays a femme fatale (in the deadly sense) that was designed by him. It is a fantastic Sci Fi film with some fantastic special effects.
The film strts when a message is received in a radio transmission from outerspace containing information on how to combine their DNA with ours. Scientists in america realising they were dealing with highly intelligent species concluded they were peaceful and created the creature Sil. Once they realise she is a danger they try to put her down but ..... you guessed it she escapes with some carnage and alien shannigans!!!!

) A good theme but they seemed to be short of funding. Flat footed scene settings in and around LA (no costs there then!) Boring special effects, sadly to the point of being amateurish.
Acting is wooden--even Kingsley--and quickly forgettable.
If you are stuck for something to do for an hour, then this is OK. However, you might just prefer the dentists or perhaps listening to more ramblings and deceipt from the government----all are woefull experiences!
