I bought this CD from pure nostalgia. I have been buying CD's that remind me of that carefree time before children and mortgage when the real worries were the latest fashion and spots! This CD is a fantastic reminder of that time. An 80's classic!

This cd took me back to my school days and all the great days came flooding back.Aftewr goiung to see Spamdue Ballett earlier this year i just had to buy this cd,i would suggest to anyone in their early 40's and beyoned ,in fact any one to go and buy this cd.

The sounds of the 80s are never best represented than in this CD! Spandau Ballet's most recent greatest hits CD is a treat for those who want to listen to it, and remind you all of the tunes that came out of the 80s!

The best track on this album is "True", the fantastic song that will surely become the romantic soundtrack to anyone's life! Other highlights include the funk-driven "Chant No. 1", the epic "Gold", the catchy "Only When I Leave", the great debut single "To Cut A Long Story Short", and of course, "Through the Barricades".

What sadly prevents this album from getting five stars is, when comparing them to other acts, they are merely a footnote in musical history, and many of today's youth will not know about Spandau Ballet, even if they have heard one of their songs. Also, some of the songs are slightly forgettable, but when they hit, they REALLY hit, thanks in no small part to Tony Hadley's deep vocals and Steve Norman's excellent jazz solos that accurately sum up the GOOD 80s music of the devade!

Definately reccomended if you are a fan of New Romantic music and 80s pop! 4/5

Wall to wall cheese thats what I expected and thats what I got. I liked it and if you liked the 80's so will you. Worth it for Gold alone.

There are obviously the spandau classics of 'gold' and 'true' but there are many other quality songs on this excellent cd .

SPANDAU BALLET WHAT CAN I SAY, ONLY REALLY BOUGHT IT FOR "THROUGH THE BARRACADES",ALTHOUGH THERE ARE A COUPLE OF HALF DECENT TRACKS ON THIS ALBUM E.G. "HIGHLY STRUNG", "ONLY WHEN YOU LEAVE" & "GOLD" OTHER THAN THESE NOT MUCH ON THE ALBUM IMPRESED ME, WHICH WILL PROBABLY ANNOY ALL YOU DIE HARD SPANDAU FANS BUT WE ALL CANT HAVE THE SAME TASTES IN MUSIC WOULD PROBABLY BE A BORING WORLD IF WE DID. AS I8 SAID BOUGHT THIS FOR "BARRACADES" AND WHAT A CLASSIC TRACK THIS IS A 10/10 SONG AND A CREDIT TO THE KEMP BROTHERS, BUT WITHOUT TONY HADLEYS POWERFULL VOICE THE SONG WOULD BE NOTHING.IT'S AN OK ALBUM.
