This is an excellent account of a fictional trip to the stars - but the fiction is in the action, not the science. Using known facts you are taken on a voyage of discovery that makes you really want to see the heavens for yourself. It also makes you truly appreciate this speck of a planet we actually live on and all that's on it.
The only annoying thing is the feeling that mission control are idiots! But don't worry - they is a backdrop to the real stars (which are actually planets and moons).
So take off and enjoy.
