The Sound Of Music

Who doesn't know the opening song to this film or at least the first few words. Yes the hills are truly alive with the sound of this music and it couldn't of been accomplished by anyone but Julie Andrews as Clumsy Nun Maria.
Maria is sent to be the nanny of the Von Trapp family a well groomed family who's strict father has whipped them into shape but to such an extent that they have forgotten how to be children.
Maria is set on giving them back their childhood and during that process although it gets her into trouble with the father of the family she also teaches him to loosen up on his children.
This is very much a love story and also a kind hearted family film which is set to entertain any ages.
Every song in this film is so catchy and memorable that you will find your friends looking at you strangely when you start to silently sing to yourself, "Alone on a hill with a lonely goat Yodelay yodelay yodelay hee hoo"
I loved this film and it is a wonder why Julie never won an Oscar for her role. This increased my respect for Dame Julie but a truck load and she will forever be remembered as Froileign Maria.
