Sony Walkman MZ-R501 Personal MiniDisc Player

A very nice Sony Walkman, just what you would expect of sony lots of volume in my opinion a first class player.

I needed a replacement for my mindisc player which like previous ones eventually developed problems with recording and wiping discs at random. This player works perfectly since it arrived, very quickly and well packaged from the seller. They are great machines - while they work. I've gone through 4 of them over the years just through continuous use.

I was pleased with the product. It arrived in good useable condition and was as described by the seller. I purchased this product as feel Minidisc is a Good quality convinient alternative to Audio Tapes. As a Collector of Viynl Records it will be useful for making Good Quality Recordings of them for Portable listening. A pity MD never took off in a big way i think. As far more durable than Tapes and much Better Quality than CDs or Mp3 Music Compiled on a PC. Also the convinience of being able to Copy from any Audio Source without the need for a Computer or special SoftWare.

Does what a minidisc recorder should. Not too complicated, simple controls. Typical Sony quality really.

Excellent portable mini disc player / recorder.
Great recording quality and deep sound playback. No lcd remote with this model or usb connection . But optical lead can be used and The display is clear , so you dont miss the lcd remote unit. The benefit of MDLP is the amount of recording time from a 74 mim m.d. disc , compared with conventional cdr disc.
The MINI DISC still is a great option over mp3 players as you can update constantly or overwrite discs and with re chargeable batterys , they are practical . Forget 2gb - 4gb mp3 players , the MINI DISC PLAYER is cheaper and more versatile. And there are loads of different option models . Sonic software is easy to use and no restrictions once tracks are downloaded , from internet...... Apple still have a lot to learn from one of the FATHERs of PORTABLE music players.

It has given me an extra recording device for my work, so i am pleased with it. It has all the function I expected from the disc player and my other was was playing up , so this is a good new piece of equipment for me to have.

I brought this as a present for my boyfriend. He already has a mini disc player and he gets such pleasure from it, he was worried about not being able to get a replacement. Due to i-pods taking their place. My boyfriend has not yet progressed to the digital age so it is nice to know you can get things like this from ebay. The mini disc player was in excellent condition and made my boyfriend very happy.

Not very useful for musicians as it does not have an input for a live microphone.
It has long play 2 and 4. I would say it's pretty useless though. When I bought it the seller did not specifies about the mic input thing otherway non way I would have bought it.

It was a great description and arrived in mint condition. I was impressed how quickly it arrived and I would use this seller again.

HAVE ALWAYS LIKED THE MINI-DISC PLAYER.....FOUND IT VERY USER FRIENDLY AND A VERY COMFTABLE SIZE. AT PRESENT I OWN 4...I AM INTO AUDIO BOOKS AND ANY I GET IN TAPE FORMAT I TRANSFER DIRECTLY TO MINI-DISC FOR EASY USE

This product was got for my studies as with a minidisc you can put more on than a single CD and no space taken from my ipod and it is a wonderful piece of equipment that never got the masses like it should have

The MD player was as described, it does the job and I appreciated the bundled discs, good comms from the seller all the way.

this item was advertised as new condition, when I received it, it looked badly worn, no leads nor program disc with it. And does not work.

I have had 96% bad buys and some did not even send the products, yet they refused to refund me!!!!

I am sorry to say that I regret buying anything on ebay. There should be tighter control and easier ways to contact the ebay team for help!!!!
