Very easy to operate DVD recorder (once the inital set-up has been completed). I have read other reviews which criticize the manual but, as a complete novice at setting these things up, I found it really helpful and easy to understand. Overall quality is excellent and very good value for money. I did a lot of research before buying and I think I got the best one on the market at the moment.

This is our second HDD as we love the ease of recording onto hard disk, no faffing about with DVDs etc and we wanted one which would link to our Bravia TV so we went with this model with SmartLink - however.... In order to get the smartlink to work we had to go and buy a gold HDMI cable, we stumbled on this solution as we couldn't find any advice anywhere telling us how to get the two things to link and despite following the instructions (and my hubby is quite technical) we couldn't get the thing to work.
All sorted now though and we're happy with it.
Only downside I would note is the EPG is pretty naff, it just seems a bit clunky and not very aesthetically pleasing and, strangely, completely different to the TV, so no Sony standard.
Anywho, overall it's a thumbs up!
