I wanted to buy my sons a ps3 for thier birthdays,after emailing the seller 2days previous before the bidding ended on s ps3 40gb,and receiving a reply that the bidding would run its course and thier was No Buy It Now Price.
After watching and bidding on the item and Winning the bid,the seller sends me an email 24hrs later to tell me it was a prank,that is partner had done it has they had fallen out,she also put numerous other things for sale too the seller informed me. On checking the items he had sold,he had never sold any other such things.....Its sellers like this who make ebay DIRTY,he should be barred for buying and selling for life...
I now have two upset 10 + 14 year olds,with no birthday present to give them today...how sad..

I decided to buy from ebay as i have in the past had some great great buys,most have been genuine,also i didnt have the money to buy a console and 3games New from a shop,as im a single parent working mother with a Mortgage.

the playstation cost me 250 pound,took 3 weeks to come an then didnt work,i tried to contact the seller and so did paypal he did not reply to either of us making me beleave he knew the playstation was faulty before he sold me it,after a month of paypal trying to contact the seller they refunded me my money,2 days after receaving the refund the seller contacted me by email asking that now i have receaved my money when would i be sending the faulty playstation back to him,i replyed that when he sends me extra money to cover the cost of the postage and packaging i would send the playstation back to him,i dont know if i am in the wrong to keep hold of the item but dont see why i should put myself out of pocket when it seems it was the sellers intention to rip me off

firstly i was against the ps3 having already migrated from ps2 to xbox i went straight for the xbox360. big mistake! even though the ps3 seems a little over priced its not really as you get a blu-ray dvd player built in and a console which in a lot of respects is usable as a home pc too. the games are pretty much the sam as the xbox granted xcept for the xbox only titles and vice versa but my xbox broke, i got it repaired which although its free its really awkward and time consuming! i then bought the xbox elite thinking all the bugs would have ben worked out, WRONG AGAIN it broke TWICE the 3 red lights are really annoying as this is the symbol for send it off to microsoft. so to finish on a good note the ps3 is reliable no-one i know has had a broken one (compared to the 8 people whose 360's have busted) and the games are great and if you can live without halo and gears of war then this is the console for you, also dont worry about spending less and getting a smaller hardrive as they are compatible with any plug and play hardrives which are reasonably priced. happy buying.

i tried a blue ray film on my playstation 3, with my hd ready tv, and the picture wasnt what i expected. After asking friend and reading reveiws etc, my tv only goes up to 1080i which means HD READY, so i payed out for an tv which says FULL HD READY, and its 1080P, the p means progressive scan apparently,.. so tried it again on the new tv and its picture is amazing....... The morale to this story is, buy and full hd tv (1080p) if you want to watch blue ray in its finest condition...

I think that buying goods from ebay is an almost guaranteed money saver compared to buying from an online store or in the highstreet. For example a 40GB ps3 on the highstreet will cost at least £299 with no extras. I managed to get a brand new sealed PS3 for £225 (with one controller), GTA IV for £22, an extra wireless controller for £20 and an HDMI cable for £5. Therefore I have got the HDMI cable, an extra controller and a top title game aswell as the console for £28 less than the highstreet will give you just the console for. All items that were bought on ebay were brand new and sealed so there is no difference in quality.

Great great great i am well inpressed with this ew playstation the picture quality is excellent and the games and films are ecellent quality it is a well recomended console and i would recomend it to any one who asked about getting one again great !!!!!

i decided to buy this machine as i wanted to play the new alone in the dark,and as a blu ray player

as a games console this is very poor-most games are poorly done 360 ports or multi platform games-the exclusives arent worth buying the console for

as a bluray player it functions perfectly well-although im quite surprised at the poor quality of bluray compared to the now dead hd dvd format-theres a lot of grain in bd films

the joypads feel unnaturaly light with no feedback or rumble-yet
the constant firmware updates are annoying-these are all good and well when adding new features but not when there fixing things that should have been rightat the start or adding ideas robbed from other consoles to say this is a divx certified machine-its playback is poor-i found the 360s avi playback much better

as a bd player you cant really go wrong-its one of the best on the market and a good price

as a games console its a none starter--why could they not even design a new interface rather than using the psp one,

1 saving grace games wise is motorstorm that is a fantastic racing game,one of the best i have ever played

having owned a xbox for a few years, i decided to sell it and get a PS3, and i will tell you, it was one of the best moves i have ever made. Now i have 3 of them! Purely because they are a great gaming console AND they are the cheapest, most future proof blu ray player there is. they are all the reasons i needed. Since buying my first one however, Sony have seen fit to add several nice features, such as upnp, so i can stream media to them, and now, as an added bonus, it is not DivX certified, meaning it cam play DivX files and most of the xvid files aswell. it is the best all in one entertainment system there is. BUY ONE NOW! you will not regret it.

awesome consoloe love it! i had an xbox 360 before which broke, and the ps3 is much more easy to use plus free network gaming is always a bonus!!

Brilliant console, great graphics and sound, an all in one media center as plays bluray's, dvd's, music cd's, avi files.

Also able to view photos from memory sticks, stream videos, mp3's, avi's from a pc, able to surf the internet from the console and buy games and demos from playstation store.

The PS3 I received was in excellent. I have played Assassin's Creed through. It is an excellent game.
If you a planning on buying a 360 forget it. The PS3 is much more value. You get a media player with Blu-Ray capabilities.

Bought to use as a blu-ray player - very satisifed with it in that role, it also upscales DVDs brilliantly. Looking forward to using it as a PVR as well when PlayTV becomes available - not really interested in games at all!
