I've always liked the idea of a jukebox. To put my cd collection in one place and available at the touch of a button.

This was the simplest, cost effective, space saving option i found.

All my discs are now stored safely within the Sony jukebox, and the cases now stored in the loft ( managed to clear a cupboard full of cd's )

The Sony jukebox is slightly bigger than most seperates ( depth ) but this was easily remeded by cutting the back panel of my AV unit.

Overall a fantastic bit of design genius which is full of various options. Comes highly recommended.

PROS.
Fantastic sound quality.
Affordable
Space saving.
CD's burnt on your pc automatically put the text on so when you load it into the jukebox it comes up with the artist / title.
Put on Random Repeat for parties and the music is never ending !!!!

CONS.
Out of all my cd's ( over 150 ) only 1 had the cd text encrypted so i had to manually enter the text. You can plug in any PS2 PC keyboard to the Jukebox to type the text...but this still takes some time.

Takes a approx 15 secs once one cd has ended before it starts playing the next cd.

Unit was not working on arrival and I had to spend the equivalent of the original purchase price again to have it repaired.

  Size and space does matter.

Always fancied one of these but never took the time to fully research until now. It is a very large black box around maybe three times the size of an average seperate such as a tuner, amp, or single CD player, and as such it is very overpowering to look at, so best tucked away in a bottom shelf of a stacking system. (The facia / control panel is really nice and certainly an immediate talking point when anyone sees it as part of a system.) Well worth the time taken to load and index (easy using a keyboard which just plugs into the front) all those CD's you are not sure what to do with - you know the ones I mean, where you have never played them for months, maybe years, but just cannot bring yourself to dispose off. 300 is a vast quantity and WOW it certainly can clear those overstocked shelves and let you store away the jewel cases someplace out of sight.

Quality of sound is actually very good indeed and no worries there either. It seems a super machine and a nice alternative to getting all those CD's stuffed onto an iPod or computer, but do not underestimate the size and 'uglieness' of such a huge black box machine.
