Always fancied one of these but never took the time to fully research until now. It is a very large black box around maybe three times the size of an average seperate such as a tuner, amp, or single CD player, and as such it is very overpowering to look at, so best tucked away in a bottom shelf of a stacking system. (The facia / control panel is really nice and certainly an immediate talking point when anyone sees it as part of a system.) Well worth the time taken to load and index (easy using a keyboard which just plugs into the front) all those CD's you are not sure what to do with - you know the ones I mean, where you have never played them for months, maybe years, but just cannot bring yourself to dispose off. 300 is a vast quantity and WOW it certainly can clear those overstocked shelves and let you store away the jewel cases someplace out of sight.
Quality of sound is actually very good indeed and no worries there either. It seems a super machine and a nice alternative to getting all those CD's stuffed onto an iPod or computer, but do not underestimate the size and 'uglieness' of such a huge black box machine.
