Sony MHC-GT444 Shelf System

Awesome system well worth the money.
Ultimate bass & sub woofer.
Make sure you have space for it as it isen't small.
Instructions arn't logical and take a full read before you can understand the details of the system.
very easy to set up if you have set up a hi-fi before, comes with a remote + batteries for the remote.

everything is great apart from the audio input is on the front n not the back which would make it better so there are less wires around

well if your in need of some banging tunes with a great system, this is definately it, great sound and amazing bass

Hello The reason i bought this item was that i had seen it in a well known store at £170 and at another well known store i saw it at £125 so i bought it and then i went onto ebay and again a well known store saw it at £79-99,and £4-99 p/p so i bought it at that price and took the other back and got a full refund,thats the power of e-bay Many thanks B Peniket

This item is just what I was looking for. The flexibility of compatible formats are great as it can take USB sticks, play MP3's, CD's, connect my iPod/iPhone and it also plays cassettes if you still have those knocking around. The best part of this system is the quality of the base it kicks out at over 400 watts, you have to listen to actually appreciate the quality. 9/10

the bass is outstanding depending on the song choice. its an unbelievable system and at the price of £85 i dont even want to state anything bad, probly the size but it isnt that big depending on what and where you want to put it. i for one love it and im sure anyone who buys it will feel the same such a powerful system and good quality from sony perfect.

fantastic buy brand new item looked at one a few days ago in a shop was dearer and wasnt like this unit brand new boxed the other one was ex demo and was 60 more expensive BRILLIANT BUY BEST ONE THIS YEAR

i looked around for a hi-fi and after testing this is currys n for the knock down price i found it at, its really a no brainer. if you like your music loud and full of bass, (n who doesn't?), then get this system.

its full of features that work well, and im loving the rev counter! i also read that the system is picky with which usb mp3 players it reads from, ive tried a samsung one, and a micro sd card reader and they both work fine. it even finds deep folders with music on. the cd player reads mp3s well, and i prefer the drive type tray, as opposed to the big slide out one on the older systems.

the cons i would say are having owned an older model in this series i was dissappointed with the fm radio reception. i used to be able to pick up a number of pirates from east london in north west with the old system, but this one isnt having any of it. maybe i need a new aeriel, but the old one worked fine with a flimsy bit of wire.

anyway on the whole im very impressed n ill give it 4/5, would have been 5 if the fm reception was better.

This is really good it does all it says it does. The delivery service was excellent,it arrived on time to present it on my son's birthday. The only thing is It is a bit bulky not suitable for people who have extremely small space. I would definitely recommend people to go on argosbargains on e-bay they are reliable and efficient

Brilliant system. It's huge but luckily I've got a big room. Brilliant bass as well. At first I hadn't got the sub turned on and thought it was bassy! Definite purchase, and for £80 as well. amazing.

System is very large for a mini system the speakers cabinets look cheaply made of very poor quality fibre board and the main unit itself looks very plasticky . The sound is not a par on the previous Sony system which I owned and the sound although can be turned up very loud with minimal distortion is very muffled and unclear. For the quality of system and sound it was just about worth the £80 I paid for it, A very disapointing buy . Sony can do so much better!!!

Been a big fan of Sony Walkman (cassette and their recent MP3 players) for their design and sound quality and therefore this is a bit dissappointing, especially in the sound quality department.

The design of the system is nice and very functional but the speakers are made from thin fibreboard and the sound quality reflects this. Yes, I agree it goes loud without distorting, and the bass unit thumps away, but the music is very muddled, with timing and pitch out of the window. Listen to the Sony NWZ series walkman with their EX headphones and the difference is night and day.

Sony's CMT-EH series of product, although smaller, sounds far better but has less functionality and is less flash. I have used both in the same environment. It is a pity that this product does not live to the sound quality of the smaller (and cheaper) siblings.

THIS IS A GREAT SYSTEM, BUT IT IS A SONY. I TURNED IT UP TO HALF WAY AND MY FLOOR VIBRATED.
YOU HAVE TO READ THE INSTUCTION BOOK TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING, BUT IT HAS QUITE A FEW PRE-SET SOUND OPTIONS.
I AM STILL PLAYING AROUND WITH MINE AND KEEP FINDING THINGS I CAN DO.
AS MY TITLE SAYS, LOOKS GOOD, SOUNDS GREAT. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS SYSTEM TO ANYONE.

Excellent system. Haven't tried everything out yet, but so far so good. Sound is amazing, with or without subwoofer. Easy to set up and start playing music, but would reccommend a quick read of the small manual to gain full advantage. Nothing too technical though. Nice sized remote that does most functions.
One note of caution, speakers and sub and are the same height as the system but are bit wider, so if you're really tight for space, they may overcrowd the room.
Well packaged and it really does fill 90% of the big box it comes in!
Good looks and a modern design.
Only one small gripe is the speaker and sub cable lengths need to be longer for my ideal speaker locations, but are fairly long at just under 2 mtrs/6'in.
