Sony MEX-BT2500 Car CD/ MP3 Player

For around the £80 to £90 price bracket this is an excellent CD head unit that combines many brilliant features. For a start it is a good car stereo that plays MP3s, WMAs and CDs on both CDRs and CDRWs (as you't expect from Sony). The killer feature for me it the fact that it incorporates a bluetooth car handsfree kit (this separately could cost you the price of the stereo). So if you are listening to you music and you receive a call on your bluetooth enabled handset, the music will mute and you can take your call through the head unit, with sound coming through your car speakers. Even better though, if you have A2DP built into your phone, you can stream all the music on your phone, in stereo, through your car speakers. Another thing I really liked is the fact that you get an infra red mini remote with the unit so passengers can take control, should you wish to allow them! On the downside though, the unit itself could look a little better (currently looks like a budget unit) BUT for me the feature far outway this little niggle.

Sweeet! Good clear audio, removable fascia, front input for your mp3 player and then the killer bluetooth connectivity. Handsfree kit works well stationary and at low speeds, yet to try it on fast roads but I've heard the microphone isn't really up to it but can be modified to be better (almost impossible to work out how to connect to your phone without a manual though, for the record you turn it off, hold the bluetooth/ep button for 7 seconds until the btooth sign FLASHES and then pair from your phone). CD player is crap in my car though, not sure if the guy before me wrecked it, my suspensions too hard or my disks are too scratched but it skips to f***!
Bit of a pain to fit if you've never done one before (ended up paying halfords a tenner to do it), wire snipping and an aerial converter is required but this could have just been for my car. Overall happy, but I'd only recommend if you have a modern car (with good factory speakers) or have no intention of upgrading your sound system (amps etc.) then it's brilliant!

FM radio, CD player, AUX for the ipod and bluetooth for the mobile all in one unit!!! Fits into a standard car DIN stereo opening with very little effort using standard power and speaker jack plugs. Great product highly recommended.

I bought this as my first item from "Letsbuycaraudio" on 23rd Dec 08 and was happy with the item description and delivery service.
Despite immediately leaving the following feedback:
"Thanks, it works very well, especially the bluetooth mobile handsfree facility" and then sending two emails requesting feedback from "Letsbuycaraudio" I have heard nothing. As this was my first eBay purchase I was really disappointed at the lack of feedback from "Letsbuycaraudio" and wondered whether this was how all eBay sellers acted.
Luckily, the three purchases I have made from other sellers since then have been trouble free.

The sound quality is good. Bluetooth option is ok, but the position of the microphone doesn't help with sending clear signal. There is a solution to this problem on the net, but it involves opening the radio and doing some adjustments which means loosing the warranty. DO NOT buy this radio if you want to connect it to the amplifier in future as it has no outputs at all. Even BT-2600 is designed for amplifier and steering wheels control (providing you have an extra adaptor). Overal it's a nice, ENTRY level, bluetooth enabled unit.

Bought this for my daughter...Trusted the sony brand to give excellent quality. She is over the moon that she can recieve and send telephone calls via bluetooth from her mobile phone to the head unit via car speakers and also stream all her mp3 music saved on phone via bluetooth to the head unit. This is really an excellent unit which is very versatile and is excellent value for money considering the sound quality and features.

For a budget priced cd player it has some good features. Using the bluetooth facility is very easy and playing music from my phone is a good feature with good sound and no noticable delay in streaming. Handsfree facility is easy to use but at times, especially on the motorway it's not as clear as it could be. Having the option to plug in an mp3 player is also a plus. The sound quality of the unit itself is ok but i've heard much better but not in this price range. With certain handsfree kits on their own costing more it's great value for money.

I think this CD player is well worth getting! it works great and has so many features. If you have music on your phone you can actually stream music from it and it plays through your car speakers.

One thing i will say... If your car doesn't have the 'compatible adapter' it can cost quite a bit (£25 in my case) to get the adapter to fit and on top of that the red and yellow power wires were the wrong way round and so it kept losing my stored stations and clock every time the ignition went off! To make sure these wires are the right way round make sure that the unit beeps at you when you turn off the ignition when the face panel is on. This means its all wired correctly!!!!

This is a superb Radio CD. I fitted into my wifes Street KA and the difference in sound quality is great even with the standard speakers. The bluetooth side is fantastic. Switch on your phone, get in the car and switch on the radio and thats all there is to it. The rest is automatic.The sound quality at both ends of the call is very good. This has been replaced by the Sony MEX-BT2600 CD Player which is supposed to be even better

I think the Sound quality of this head unit is just stunning and all features are easy to use. The head unit is easy to install and mount in your car.

The only thing I do not like about it is the quality of phone calls through it. The person at the other end of the phone can hardly hear you and sounds like you are in a tunnel.

Over all I think I would give this 8 out of 10.

all i can say is spot on cd player and the hands free is very good very easy to fit great sound from it aswell
