At present I am using a Sony 3CCD digital camcorder. I have dozens of family videos recorded on HI8 and video8. The video camcorder on which I recorded these memories, gave up the ghost some time ago. I wanted to preserve these video on to DVD, hence buying the Sony HI8 video camcorder. The playback is faultless. Recording is very good, so I have a second camera as a back-up. Can't fault Sony products for their performance and reliability. Would recommend the TRV59E to anyone!

Bought this as it looked siple to use, and was good value for money, so at the end of the day, if we lost interest in it, or just could not work out how to use it, we had not really lost anything, and to date, it has been well used, and the novelty has not worn off.

Being one of those people who are not very technical minded, I wish ihad purchased one of these years ago!
