The reception and voice clarity are really good and need to be mentioned since that is the main purpose of buying a phone

The extendable memory is a very important feature and the provided 512 mb is more than enough for normal usage and extendable upto 4gb is an addition.
Overall the phone is a very good allround performer.

Word's can not describe what this phone is capable of. Sony Ericsson have made the best phone by making the W810i. They've excelled theirselves and done us and theirselves proud. There are lot's of downloads available for the phone and lot's of accessories available for you to buy. You can buy memory stick's from 32mb to a whopping 4gb just for this phone. You can never run out of things for it.

I've had one for 7months and have loved every minute of it. Standard the phone comes with a 512mb memory stick so I immidiatly upgraded this to a 1gb. I would advise this to most/all people. You can hold over 1000 tracks over 2000 pictures and about 1000 video's (depending on the size of the file) and still have space left for theme's and game's to be downloaded.

I decided to buy the phone because Sony Ericsson is the best make around. I've had Motorola's, Seimen's and Samsung's and hated them. When I first got a Sony Ericsson I loved it. I loved how I could download what I wanted and not have all of the companies own rubbish on my phone. I still love this today. Now with the added support of Sony's own Walkman being installed on the phone's it's twice as good. Other companies have not come as far as Sony in the technical area and the phone addon's. I mean Motorola are still using ITunes on their phones and that doesn't work very well.

Over all I would buy this phone or one of the other Walkman phones. Currently I have owned the W700i (No longer made or sold) the W810i and I have just upgraded to the W610i. Again all amazing phone's but that's due to the company who make's it.

The phone brand new would be fantastic, the one i bought was descibed as being as new. Unfortunately this was not true, the clear plastic that covers the camera lens has a plastic UV coating on it. On the phone i bought it had been scrathed off (clearly not in as new condition). Consequently i had to send it back to the seller to get refund. But as i say it is best to find someone selling one brand new, due to the fact that the camera lens is un-protected.

Upon asking a friend. "This phone has lasted me 2 years, and still going strong. Has a great camera due to the lence, would heavily reccomend. Does everything you need with quality, yet is at a low price!"

I purchased a samsung d900i candy and took it back 2dys later! Purchased this phn and its fab. I don't think you can go wrong with sony ericsson especially the walkman range. Download music listen to the radio, its got a fairly good camera, really easy to use and I love it. It has a light sensor so lights up orange in the dark, expandable memory so even better. Mines in white and I love it really happy with it. Battery has been good lasts 2-3days. if your listening to radio or music will need charging daily, other than that its a fab little phn fits nice and snug in your hand and the key pad is great 4 txting. Really easy to use too.

This one has everythnig a phone should have and - what's probably is most important - it is pretty cheap. I thought next time I buy a phone it's gonna be Nokia, but now I'm happy I've chosen SE and wouldn't buy any other if I had to do it again!

A great phone with super features including a 2Megapixel camera, and MP3 Walkman player.

Including all the Sony software there is very little more you could ask from this model of phone. I have now purchased two of these for members of my family who use them as "entertainment centres" with the numerous games which can be played on them while listening to music, calander for important appointments, a fully functional camera with zoom lens which many others do not and reasonable quality video recording. Oh yes and you can call people on it as well as a phone !!

Battery life is fairly good even with all this activity going on and can be fast charged back to life very quickly.

There is also a "Walkman" fast button to get you to what you want to use quickly, a "in flight" mode on switch on is also an option so you can use it on an aircraft purely as a MP3 player and nothing else.

Numerous accessories are available for it, replacement covers, protective covers, etc

Having looked at other phones on the market this is still available new to contract customers of many suppliers but is becoming readily available on ebay as other users are being offer more upgrades to the latest phones, this one in most cases is less than a year since it was new and in great demand, in some cases asking a premium due to the demand.

Really worth buying if you can one for a bargain.

I purchased the phone because my Sons was stolen. I asked him what phone he would like. He asked for the w810i. The phone has all the modern features you could ask of a phone. Ability to play and store lots of music & Video. It also comes with an excellent sound system which plays the music in excellent condition. The phone is also aesthetically first class it comes with both music DJ & Video DJ which allows you to make your own music & Videos. To help you to store a lot more Music, Video or pictures you can expand to external memory which is cheap to purchase. The Phone includes a 2 mega pixel camera which is more than enough for an average quality Photograph.

I absaloutley love this phone. i've had it a few months now and can't fault it. The first thing that drew me to it was its a sony, it has fantastic memory facilities, good camera and lots of extras. The software supplied is really good easy to use and transfer between pc and phone. The amount of memory means you can take full advantage of the MP3 player which is fab, lots of tracks can be held as well as photos and videos. The phone is completly customisable with downloadable themes off the net.

If I was to purchase a new phone I would definatley recommend this one or any of the Sony Ericsson Walkman range.

I bought this phone in February 2007...i'd saved up for a while, and got it for £120 (which was cheap at the time) from 02's online shop...

As a sidepoint - I would never buy directly from 02 again, customer service was just terrible - i was meant to get an extra £20 discount which i never got, and the phone was meant to come with free speakers which also never came - repeated complaints to 02 have never been answered, aside from "we're dealing with it - it's now 7 months later!

Anyway back to the phone,...i bought it in Feb 2007, and it was absolutely brilliant, unfortunately I went swimming around June with it in the pocket of my shorts! I've never felt so bad, because that phone was my pride and joy, and it was beyond repair!

So i waited till i saved up for another phone...It's September 2007 now, and i bid for a used W810i on ebay yesterday which looked ok aside from having scratches on it's screen, set my maximum bid in at £75, someone else got it for £77 & £7 p&p...i was damn annoyed! - So i went down my local tescos and found a brand new one for £79.99 when i took it to the checkout they said i was entitled to £20 free phone credit! So I'm chuffed!!

Morale of that story is shop around - there are bargains to be had on ebay, but it's not always the best.

Right now really to the phone -

I've had 2 models of Sony Ericssons now, the K350i and the W810i - having previously had a Sagem (terrible!) Panasonic (was ok, for a year) Nokia (ok, but nothing amasing and died after 1 and a half years) and Motorolas (not so great)...i turned to the first of my Sony Ericssons, and found it brilliant, i kept it for over 2 years and it was fantastic in its day....i would now never dream of buying anything other than Sony..,...so I went for the W810i.

My friends were getting the W850 at the time, but i couldn't afford it and the W810i has pretty much the same features so i wasn't so jealous.

The phone was a dream. The screen is fantastic quality and resolution the colours are so bright and crisp, pictures are displayed brilliantly, the walkman is fantastic, easy to use and understand...great sound off it, with Sony's Megabass feature on the phone...The radio function is crystal. I've never had a problem with the calls.

I really don't understand some people complaining about the battery. I thought it was one of the most brilliant things of the phone - The battery is amasing! It lasts for ages, and charges breathtakingly fast - takes hardly any time - it absolutely eclipses any other phone's battery around.

The only minuses i could find? Well the fact that you can't use your own headphones - you have to have the Sony Ericsson special plughead to fit into the phone, and it is known to break off, and did on my last phone - so be careful with them! Personally i listen to my phone on the loudspeaker anyway, if i want to listen to music with headphones i use my actual 20Gig MP3 player.

It comes with half a gig of Memory, which you can upgrade to 4Gig, and even 8Gig...the half a gig is very nice tho...there is a way if you can find out how ;) to get videos from the net on to the phone, which is brilliant! I keep loads of family guy and music videos on mine!

The old sony ericssons used to have a problem with the joypad packing in totally - glad to say Sony have resolved this with the Walkman series and here in the W810i and its no longer a problem.

All in all its truely a legend among phones - an amasing phone!

It is a good all round phone, with a quality camera and great for playing music. I have a K800i and a K750 both Sony Ericsson Phones and both are good phones the K750 better than the K800. This persauded me to go for another Sony Ericsson for my son.

....what a brill phone... change the media card to a 4GB and you have all the space you need.... the blue thooth had a very good range, the audio speaker is very handy. the sound from the mp3 player is as good as anything else u can buy... its all in your phone.... and.... you can call and text people to!!! the W810i does just what you want it to do.... and is so robust as well, its a sound phone... and a super mp3. no fuss, just all round good quality.

Arguably the best of the Walkman phones, the W810i has everything you need in a music player phone: Sony's award-winning Walkman music player with enough memory to store 20 full-length audio CD's, a built-in FM radio, and a 2 megapixel camera with autofocus. In our opinion this is a phone that cannot be faulted.

I bought this phone because my son asked me because it plays music and its a phone in that order. The phone works fine and is what he expected. Although its getting old now people still like this phone for its looks and what it can do. Since my son has had this one about 9 of his friends have bought them but from shops and paid a lot more than we did off of ebay.
