Sony Ericsson P1i

I bought the P1i because I had been using a P900 then P901 for years and it seemed like the natural move to a smaller unit with the same power.
Experience has told me that Symbian software products are much more reliable that Microsoft power products.
I've been using the phone for 3 days and from an initial reaction of 'Oh no' as it is rather different, it is now delighting at every move.
Its size is exactly what I wanted. The multi-function keys seem easy to use from the start and the display is brilliant. I was delighted at the improvements in the sync facilities to the PC and once I had loaded a few extra 'essential' programs light HandySafe I was up and running with my usual data.
The only thing I saw negatively surprised at was the lack of choice with respect to ring tones. So I'm fixing that by buying an appropriate CD full of them.

With 3 MP cam and on sony you can get great quality pictures. It is a touch screen with keyboard which makes it more than just a mobile phone. It is simply a PDA. And with all the accessories it is one of the best phone you could have. Perfect.

Love this phone, bought as an upgrade to the W950i which didn't have a camera. All the same functionality as the W950i plus WIFI and camera & a proper keyboard insted of the soft touch keypad.
3.2Meg Camera is an excellent alternative to carrying a larger single purpose device.

Nice phone, as described. I paid the item quickly, seller dispach the phone immediately, no doubt with with it. The phone condition was as described, bit better as new condition. As desribed there was a fault with the memory card reader, and the backlight, but all been sorted with a firmware upgrade. I am happy with my purchase.

i had a p990i and i always thought it could be so much more better. this p1 is just great. it does all the things a p990i but a whole lot faster and alot more. i have only used the phone for a few days now and its simple the best one i had...well worth buying

Not going to waffle too much on this, just to say that ive owned the previous P series 'quad' (800.900.910.990) and sony seem to have this right. Ive put a 4gb card in it to cover most eventualities, the camera is spot-on (3.2mp), it is loads faster than amy of the others. I dont use it to full effect and some applications are wasted, but its light enough for the pocket, approx 125g I believe, and you can use the clever keypad or on screen to text etc at a reasonable speed - the number/keypad is a rocker affair but was easy to get used to quickly - always a sony problem in the past. Easier to put videos and music in correct folders, connecting via USB lead to computer is straightforward, and can be used without the PC software if you want by just accessing it as a drive and saving to relevant folder. With the 4 gig card, more than enough room to use as a walkman/mp3 player, saving need to buy a stand-alone player. Used for 2 months now and cant fault it at all, just need sat nav software and will be over the moon with it. Sorry about not being too 'tech' about it, but it does all I want at speed, so can only recommend that its the best all rounder ive owned so far!

I have had a P800, P 910i and now this. Follows in the mold of the others but as expected uprated in software and sleekness. Better resolution camera, more connectivity options and quite intuitive if you have had one before. A good screen for people with failing eyesight and sturdy to boot!

good compact design ,slow camera function,not too bulky in your pocket.quality build ,very good picture quality ,stylus contact not to every bodys taste.3.2 meg camera is enough for most photos.

This smartphone is a quality build and made to last. Until I purchased it, I was a Blackberry user but, never again. Im quickly converted. You can still do all the same Blackberry type functions. Having owned one, I can tell you its also as good as any Google Android based smartphone. The software and hardware are reliable and the P1i is largely directed toward the business user. Overall, the P1i's performance is simply excellent. The best "phone" I've ever owned..... by a mile. Only P1i improvement for me would the smartphone having an inbuilt GPS receiver but nothing more.

Good cheap smartmobile with lot of software. Full qwerty keyboard is attraction for this mobile phone

a mobile phone with loads of potential. need a bit of work to make it work.

down side - need to configure your wireless router to get internet access.. still need to figure out how to stream video using the phone. some p1i user manage to browse you tube on it. if any one manage to do this please let me know.

tips - upgrade your firmware. there are websites to visit out there just google it. make sure you get the latest firm ware. it makes a different. its not hard and doesn't take long.

overall - good phone if you cant afford to buy an iphone and if you need a decent camera. nice touch screen. not as good as iphone but it does the job.

ps: i bought 2 of these with confident.

Though the item was very nice and good, i think item was slightly over-priced. However, the item is quite nice and i have really been enjoying using it.

At first I didn't see the hype. I felt it lacked the many options its predecessor - the P910i offered, and the desktop layout seemed a bit confusing.

However after having played with it for a week I must say I have become quite attached to my P1i.

It's slim design, fantastic camera, excellent access to functions - makes this a top accessory.
