  Great phone with many features
Review created: 05/09/07

The K810i has a great camera feature with nearly as many features as a sony digital camera. The only downsides i can think of is that the battery isn't great, but it lasts a lot longer if you put the brightness of the screen down to 50%, which is still easily bright enough for anything. Also, the keys are a bit too far apart and the front of the phone gets dirty quite easily.

Apart from those small disadvantages, it is a great phone which i recommend to anyone

The phone itself is great, The problem you will find is that you are paying 50 - 100 pounds/dollars more than a K800i for a K800i in a different case. There is nothing that sets this phone apart from its predecessor and that in a way is also a big bonus for the handset, the K800i was one of the finest and most versatile phones around, my advise would be to buy a cheaper K800i until you cannot buy K800's anymore and by that time they will have released an 'upgraded' phone with a better camera. In my eyes the only reason to pay the extra for the K810 is if you like the looks of it more and then weigh up if thats worth the price difference.

As a phone the K800 was outstanding so being the same phone this is great too.

Sony Ericsson K810i Good Or Bad
Review created: 30/10/08

well where do i start on this review well the start is a good place i am a avid fan of the sony ericsson phones and have had a few in the past but the best one i had was a k800i

well my phone decided to stop working after being submerged in water so i had to look for a new phone so looking around e-bay i came across a k810i and i thought might be worth getting

so i got the item and when i recieved it i was very happy the phone is just as good if not better than the k800i

but it is better if you are like me you love taking pictures the cybershot is great (just like the k800i) but what i like is the little touches like the camera slider which is intergrated into the phones so it doesnt stick out like the k800i

the rounded buttons which are better spaced than most keypads on mobiles so if you have big fingers like me your words come out properly not like proparly like what happened to me on the k800i

all in all the k810i is just a update of the k800i but the features are just as good the screen is a little bit bigger than the k800i

so in closing if you want a good phone that is a bit of a powerhouse get a k810i it good looking very easy to use and works like a charm

The first thing that took me about the K810i was terrible quality of assembly and the cheap, nasty look.
It looks like SE have tried to make a 'fancy' looking K800 to give it a bit more life and in doing so constructed a pretty tacky looking phone.

This seems to carry through to reliabilty to. My first one failed after about 4 months (buttons failing to respond) and while its replacment has been better ive heard of similer problems with others.

My final complaint on its construction is its size. Why is it so big? It has a massive border around the screen which is a complete waste, and ugly.

Things get better as you use the phone tho, the interface is simple and easy to navigate. Having now moved to a Viewty it does bring home how effortless the K810 is to use effeciantly. Texting, music, BT, camera are all swift and effective. Well, the camera takes a while to save pics but apart from that its excellent.
In another comparison to the Viewty, the K810i can connect and be playing MP3's through my car before im off the drive. Im 2 miles down the road before the Viewty is doing the same.

And its these things that for me make this phone 'good'. Its a great phone to live with. Despite its tacky looks.

Plus: The camera can take great stills. Xenon flash.
Good signal
Reliable and simple music player
Ease of use

Bad: Looks cheap
Feels cheap
Camera takes to long to to save pics
Possible issues with buttons, mainly the joystick
Ends up surfing if you dont return to home screen for the key lock to engage (the only place it does)
M2. Why?
internet difficult to use and prone to crashing the phone

  Fantastic Phone

This phone offers everything. It has the usual quality Sony Ericsson can offer. Admittedly it is very similar to the K800 but with less bulk. And of course the autofocus camera is wonderful - your photos will look crisp. Like a lot of people have mentioned, the buttons are small but they didn't cause me any problems. Without a doubt I would recommend this phone especially if you want a high end camera phone. Go for it, you wont regret it!

This K810i is really easy to use, the camera is excellent & the facewarp application is hilarious. It doesn't crash or take ages to boot up like a nokia & I much prefer it over my last phone, which was a Samsung D900.
I decided to buy this phone after using my boyfriends K800i.
The only thing that annoys me with this phone is the home key.

This phone is really good simular to the k800i, great picture quality from the 3.2 mega pixel camera but has a flimsy design and nasty keys

overall i would stick to the k800i

A front running camera phone that lacks the solidity of the K800i

Great telephone with good camera. Buttons were a little bit fiddely but once you get to know your way around the key pad everything falls into place. Easy to use menu. Great for music. A good all round performer with the rely-ability of Sony Ericcson products.

  No Bull-poo Review - Sony Ericsson K810i
Review created: 17/08/08
by:
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

Good bits:

1. Camera - Takes excellent pictures, day or night.
2. Battery life - Lasts quite long on one full charge.

Bad bits:

1. No Voip (Voice-over-IP) - No free skype calling.
2. Joystick is fiddly and sometimes non-responsive
3. Menu - Could have had a more efficient menu system, too many clicks to access things AND the menu system is quite slow.

4. Software is almost identical to the K800, which means nothing new here in terms of software, applications, features etc (Same with all sony ericsson
phones really)

5. Texting - Difficult to text, the buttons are really fiddly to use.

Conclusion

There is nothing new here apart from the handset design. This phone should have had VOIP so you can use skype and call skype users for free. The buttons should have been more responsive and the menus should be more efficient. Sony Ericsson are very very clever, they just design a new handset and keep the software the same. The phone is only good for its camera and making calls (as the battery life is really good). There is nothing new here, its just a K800 which looks a bit better in style. Not really a good phone at all in my opinion.

I love the action on the buttons, nice and clicky and not too large, the see through cover looks nice but becomes prone to too many fingerprints. The camera is great for any moment and it's full of multimedia features and clever options, i love the fact that common files are supported which makes life easier. On top of this it's simple to navigate and it's easy to find what you need

Some of the downsides is that it uses the memory stick 2 instead of more popular mini/micro sd cards and it's not that small compared to other 3.2MP phones however with such a media rich phone it becomes justified. I dont use mobile internet so i can't give a verdict on that.

A great multimedia phone that won't disappoint. Size dosen't matter.

My previous Mobile the SE K750i, which a few years ago was probably the best camera phone on the planet and has never let me down once. Then I waited for next K series to appear, the K800i, which in my eyes was a bit of a disappointment. Fantastic spec, but it just looked wrong. Didn’t like the shape or feel. It reminded me of a small boat! But in fairness the SE K800i apart from its shape and size is still an excellent phone.
Then the SE K810i came along shortly followed the SE K850i. My Daughter has had the SE K850i which I was very tempted to go for… Until she had problems with the touch screen. I've read a few reviews on the SE K850i and they all say the same thing, touch screen failure etc. She's had three replacements so far and she's only had it a few months, which is a shame as its really top spec phone. (The battery life is poor also). The SE K810i is a fine camera phone but if there's one fly in the ointment, it's the keypad. You would think with raised round metalic keys it would be easier and quicker to key than the K750i's, but no. Its untactile and very easy to miskey when texting. Apart from that its an great phone, as are most SE's.

Good old Sony Ericsson K Series!

Thank goodness for Sony Ericsson. What a great phone this is. After struggling with my N95 upgrade what with the really bad prone to crashing slow software that Nokia really should address, this phone comes thru again. Very similar to the K800 that i swore i'd never get rid of, it's identical other than the wonderful new package it comes in. All i want is a camera on a mobile that never fails to take that perfect spur of the moment shot.. and this is it. Even the K850 which i endured for a week comes nowhere close to this.. and the N95 comes nowhere near. Yeah great.. sat nav.. 5mp camera and everything u could ever need on a phone is all well and good.. but only when it works without having to either wait 5 minutes or turn the damn thing off cause it's crashed. Great all round phone with a camera to be proud of. Well done on this one SE!

Not much to say really, exactly the same as the k800i but slightly smaller. The buttons aren't a problem as everyone else mensions this quite a bit. Personally I'd prefer a smart phone but this is a good little phone and worth what I paid for it, wouldn't spend more than £140 though. Cheers!!!

  Sony K810i Mobile Phone
Review created: 09/02/08

I bought this phone in a effort to get away from more complex PDA phones while still retaining essential functionality. Also, I wanted a phone that would be compatible with my TOM TOM 720t. What attracted me was the fact it also had a quality camera with xenon flash built in.
On the whole it's a great little phone. Good screen, Great battery life, great quality photos and enough features to keep the gadget freaks happy. It never lets you down, and never needs resetting all the time like some phones. I found i could connect to my email account and get emails pretty easily. Although it could be a little more flexible with the settings. I found you could only download the entire message or just the header. My PDA allowed me to set how much of the message i wanted to get. Only other thing i found difficult about the phone was writing texts. having been used to using a stylus i found predictive texting very fiddly, but i get by. I'd recommend it to anyone. 4.5 out of 5.0.
Likes: great camera, reliable, compact, lots of functions
Dislikes: fiddly texting, lacking sensible email features.
