Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot™ K850i

This is one of the best phones I have every used. And let me tell you I have had a few in my time. Mostly Nokia and Sony Ericsson but also Siemens, Samsung and even the iPhone.

This phone has an excellent camera and quality even in the dark is as good as my dedicated Sony compact camera (also 5MP). The zoom isn't much good but thats because it lacks an optical zoom of any kind and motion shots are a bit of a problem for the slow image processor. These are small compromises however.

The other technology packed into this phone is top notch but the thing I am most impressed with is the software, both on the phone and for your PC. The phone runs a version of the Symbian operating system (UIQ) which is, in my opinion, more stable than the one Nokia use (Series 60) and far better looking with all the same features packed in. As for the software on the PC this is also well designed and functionally excellent. Connections to the internet are fault free, synchronizing is fast and reliable and the various modes for media transfer and computer sync are excellent to give you the best of both worlds (speed and functionality). This is more than I could say for my old Nokia PC Suite that never used to like connecting so I could use 3.5G internet access and frequently used to throw up issues whilst syncing.

Overall the quality is good, features excellent and so far I cannot find anything to complain about with this phone.

I should also add that Sony Ericsson provide a much better range of accessories such as desk stands and car kits for specific models which is something that I have not noticed with other manufacturers.

Finally I know I have mentioned Nokia a lot here but they are Sony Ericsson's main rival and do produce the lion's share of mobile handsets in use today (although I suspect not for much longer).
