What a phone, smashing, brilliant, cool, exciting, entertaining shall I go on. The only problem is the keys but after a while you get used to it.
I cant believe how much better the camera is compared to the N95.

What can i say a fantastic phone.

The camera is second to non, sorry Nokia fans but the N95 camera is not a patch on this one, the phone is easy to use with Sony's straight forward software and the phone is as solid as the come.

The only drawback at first is the touch buttons takes a day or so to get used to using them.

All in all 5 out of 5 for me.

This is my work mobile and Im lucky enough to also have had nearly all the top sony ericsson phones. For me the range is getting stronger, the camera is great for me to use at work as I sometimes have to take pics on site, my previous phone was only 2M pixels and so ok, but not really capable in some situations.

I love the touch screen feature. Having had the chunky 9something or other (the walkman with touchscreen) I found it difficult and not really phone friendly, but this one is easy to use because it only features touch screen for 3 points.

Ive got my music on the memory card, my video clips and all my pics, the sounds also good from the phone speaker but great from decent speakers.

For me a phone should fit in my pocket, and fit in my hand whilst I text or phone, have an easy access to the camera and do what it says on the tin.

This does it all very competantly.... I can only recommend this whole heartedly. My best Sony Ericsson yet.

By the way, love the way the phone detects which way up it is, and also the fact the radio can be played through the speakers!

Sonys K850i is i would say sonys best phone up to date for its camara but it dosnt come with out its problems. First the keys are abit weird for texting on they are very well spaced apart but they are abit small, but ive only had the phone 2 days now and im starting to get used to it all ready so if you can see past something small like that it shouldnt cause you problems. Second thing it picks up finger prints like flys on poo, again only another small problem but that would annoy some people to death so you can either live with that or you cant. The third is the biggest problem its in BIG need of a firmware update this should be considered when buying this phone if you really like and you really want this phone personaly i would hold out for the new firmware to be sorted out. The problems at the moment with the firmware on most of the K850i are,

1. The flash is not in sync with the lens shutter this can cause dark pictures in low light.

2. Some times the camara lens cover will not open.


3. The touch sensitive keys just under the screen seem to have a mind of there own sometimes, i must admit those when they do work they work very well.


They are really the main problems with it at the moment there are some other smaller things wrong as well but nothing thats going to kill you. But all of the above problems are all firmware related so as soon as SE and all the networks get there butts into gear and release a stable firmware all these problems should be fixed. (Or lets hope so).

As for the phone its self its very nice good shape good size not to heavy, again its not running symbian like the nokias do so you do have a lack of what sort of 3rd party software it will run but for the most part the pre installed software is good and if you look around there are some good 3rd party apps out there for it. It will run apps like google maps and it is also able to run sat nav, nav4all seems to work fine on it, But it has no built in gps so you will need to buy one.

The camara all i can say is excellent other than the little firmware problems its just amazing the pictures are sharp and very clear and for taking night pictures useing the xenon flash your not going to get any better, I would say that it takes pictures clearer than the N95 does these a little less noise around the edges and the pics from the K850i also look better up on your pc screen as well.

now what sony ericson hav done here is cum up wid an excellent concept and design but designed software wich is absolutely rubbish! basicaly the fone itself it excellent bt the software makes it operate very slowly and it keeps gettin stuck. n this fault is in ALL sony ericsons since july 2007.

A fantastic phone suberbly complimented with a high quality 5.0 mp camera. Build quality is high and screen resolution is good. If i could change one thing it would be to make it slightly slimmer. Battery life as with most Ericsson's is one of the best features...

Best camera phone available on the market, the TFT screen is fantastic,and picture quality is second to none, it eliminates the need to buy a seperate digital camera. People have been complaining about taking pictures in the dark...but this is simply becuase they are not doing it properly and havn't got the correct setting on (Twighlight etc). Hands down the best phone around.

I love this phone its the best I have ever had. The keys are a bit fidly to begin with but you soon get used to it. The camera is amazing and the FaceWarp Application is very very funny. (you take a pic of someone and are able to change their face). The price I paid on ebay was also amazing, i got it for £160 (three charge £269) Overall a lovely phone you wont be disappointed

I bought this to replace my damaged K810i. I chose this model because because it's compatible with all the accessories that I already bought for the K810i. It's a bit bulky, compared to the K810i, but crammed with easy to use features and is very easy to navigate. The 'soft touch' commands take a bit of getting used to but is generally a better phone. The picture quality from the camera is very impressive with some excellent results. Generally I am very happy with it.

Takes a very good photo. Fiddly buttons - blue left/right/up/down insert is in the way of the numbers/letters. Also easy to press the touch screen instead of up button. Anyone with large fingers would find it very difficult to use. Keeps trying to upload photos to blog which I don't want and can't stop it trying, however I am not connected to the web so it tells me it can't do it anyway. Having problem with pc reckognising the phone - the K800i had no problem. Nearly sold it again but getting used to its quirky ways. Have not been able to save photos to pc as it tries to gather all the pics on my pc and put them where I don't want them - again no problem with the K800i. Why it should behave so differently I don't know. If the k800i hadn't got wet in my pocket and ruined it I would have preferred to keep it. Don't like the slow touch screen. Menu better on K800i - this is a bit long winded.

Not a great phone - chaep and flimsy.

If you are looking for a good phone, do stick with Sony Ericsson but go for something like the W890 or wait for the Xperia.

A superb phone combining buttons with a maximum of three touchscreen points. the menu navigation using a frame around the #2 & #5 buttons can be particularly fiddly (Fingernails handy), but bluetooth connection (Toyota Prius reliable) works perfectly and the overall look is great. Nice touch to have a built in torch!
