  Sony Cyber-shot C902 Phone - Great!

This phone is absolutely brilliant!

I had a K800i before and held back before changing it as it did almost everything I needed it to. Pictures were great, easy to use, lots of useful functions.

However, the C902 DOES do everything I want it too. It does everything my last phone did but has one vastly improved feature, the video camera function. The major reason for buying this phone is the improvement in the video recording function mode on the phone.

The C902 now records to mp4. This is really important for me as it means that I can take the memory card out of my phone put it in a memory stick converter then put it into my PSP to show my videos off on a big screen instantly! Brilliant!!!

Another major plus point is that the video camera has a light so you can record at night too with no problem which was an issue on my last phone.

There are lots of other neat little changes on the phone too, another important one is that the rubbish joystick on previos Sony phones has been replaced by a neat little square type button which is far less likely to get broken.

Altogether a great phone and definitely worth upgrading from a K800i.

It's very expensive, however, I found www.freeiphoneforme.co.uk and got one for free!

As you probably know, it's an expensive item for what it is... But, I didn't exactly pay for mine because I found a totally legal way of getting gifts like this for free!

Visit: www.freeiphoneforme.co.uk

I'm still receiving gifts like this, simply by completing just one offer like the LOVEFILM free trial. There are many other offers that you can also complete. I personally think that the Coral Bookmakers offer is the best to choose as it is quick and fun!

There are many other gifts on this site aswell, not just this product, you can get any consoles, HDTVs, iPods, iPhones, you name it, you can probably get it. You can even get cheques or Bank Transfers!
Take a look as I found it very helpful:

Sony Ericsson C902 Titanium Silver, James Bond Edition.
Review created: 23/11/08
by:
8 of 8 people found this review helpful.

In comparison to the other C902 Models, there is no comparison. This Titanium version is very sleek and smooth to the touch, One of a kind.

As a phone, it is very impressive. Here are the pros and cons that I could find.

Pros :
- Hidden Camera, Very protected.
- Camera functions are very good.
- Very slim phone, barely feel it in the pocket.
- Very well built, feels as though it can survive tough times.
- Nice screen size, brightness and clarity.
- Decent Battery life
- Flash better than most other phones on the market.

Cons :
- Battery cover is tough to open and close.
- No GPS(most phones of this price come with GPS these days)
- Antenna is in the center, so reception gets worse or better depending on how it is held(not too bad if you get used to holding it the right way)

All in all, I would recommend this phone to anyone that wants a good phone with a good 5.0 megapixel camera. And if you can, go for the Titanium Bond Version, its just that much better than the standard ones.

  Great Phone with Amazing Camera!

The phone has the same interface as all the other Sony Ericssons however in this phone you can change how you want the main meun to be laid out. The standard grid is still there but it can be customised to meet your needs.
The main selling point of the phone is the amazing 5 megapixel camera and you wont be dissapointed. The touch buttons around the edge of the screen are a nice touch however the video quallity could have been better. The phone looks very stylish and has a very sleak design. The camera slides out from the back which keeps the lens clean which not many phones do and is a very cool feature.
Another nice touch the phone has is the in built motion sensors. When viewing a picture or video you can easilly view it horizontally by turning the phone on its side. The music player is great but the headphones you get with the phone are terrible and if you are going to use this phone alot for music you should buy a better pair of headphones. Another key accessory is a memory card. Not many come with one and the internal memory is not great especially for 5 megapixel images.
The only downside of this phone is sometimes it can appear to be a tiny bit slow when loading pictures or menus. Although it rarly happens this is one of the only things stopping it getting five stars. Some people have been complaning that the buttons are to small but i cant see this being a problem as it just takes a whille to get use to. These minor problems however are not enough to ruin such a great phone. This is probarly one of the best sony ericssons on the market and you wont be dissapointed if you decide to buy one!

  Sony Ericsson C902

This must be one of the best camera phones I have ever owned. I've always been a big Sony Ericsson fan, but I wasn't a big fan of the K850i. SE went into the "touch screen" market probably because they felt they had to, and left us with a phone which was awkward to operate, especially for camera fans. Fast forward to the C902 and they appear to have done their homework. The slide out lens and flash now deploys the camera, and now only the camera functions are touch screen, which is a really smart move in my opinion. The phone is now "candy bar" thin, half the thickness of K800 and K850i and with all the smart touches of those recent phones in a much more user friendly package. Well done Sony Ericsson, you're onto a winner with this one!

Sony-ericsson C902 problem turn on and off
Review created: 18/10/08
5 of 7 people found this review helpful.

I just bough this phone and I just found out that the phone design is look very nice. However the there is slightly problems with it, wince I got it phone keep turn on and off it self whenever it feels like to.

I went on internet and did some research and other told me that I need to upgrade the software and I did since then it still happen but only few time a day. However after I have upgrade the firmware the camera doesnt work and torch option is no longer available.

As far I know that this series of Sony-ericsson is faulty and lots of people have experience similar problems. So if you want to purchase a phone to use I recommend not to get this one as it will give you lots of problem after. I used to be a big fan of sony-ericsson mobile but after this one I think I will need to move to other brand.

Hope this will be userful to everyone so please dont forget to vote for me if you find it userful

Sony C902. Fast becoming old hat in technology & style
Review created: 02/09/08
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

I purchased two of these on ebay, in close time proximity. Prices still seem to be inflated, even though most service suppliers have ample stocks and most are now offering as a FREE UPGRADE in their catalogues. Considering their first appearance was in June 08, this is not unusual. Especially as this model was to compensate for its troublesome "shake it" predecessor. However, since that time, many other manufacturers have pushed the boat out and now the kids are back at school (September) and forever wanting to be the 1st to own the latest gadget,, Samsung have started to lead the field.. So, as for the C902,, Nice while it lasted but expect to see these in the market place (Aug/Sept) for 100 ukp and less in the very near future. I gave it an AVERAGE rating as it does the job but there was nothing radical about its apperance, its facilities or its expected longevity. Drop one of these and its,, goodnight Vienna. Latest problem I've found with both of my purchases, is they have a tendancy to LOCK UP (as did their predecessor) and it's a shut down and restart to clear this problem. Sony knew about this (as stated in the trade press) but to date, no resolve in the form of firmware updates or software patches. Too busy working on the next new model to hit the shops before Xmas, I suppose?? ;-)

  Better than a K800i ?
Review created: 10/07/08
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

Having had my trusty k800i now for several years and broken a few on the way, I have been using the C902 now for sometime as one of the first people to have one as I had been waiting since February and even sent back a Nokia N95 8gb during the wait (never a lover having an iTouch).
Let's see if I can be subjective here -

Size -
Obviously narrower than the K800i but as I have big hands it is a little difficult to hold when texting, you just 'teeter' on the edge of dropping it.
The keys are no smaller but although the slight angle to them did make it a little harder for me to text.

Camera & Video -
One very good feature here is the video light(also handy when inflating car tyres in the night). Also handy a 'Polish' lorry hit me at night so it made it easier to see the damage when it goes to court with the video evidence.
White balance can be adjusted easily with the centre square rather than a feature on the menu, handy when adding a little ligh when shooting.
Touch screen works well providing the same features as before, access slightly slower.
The slide open cover is good but not as quick to use as the k800i which could be done one-handed (good for the odd notes you see an item in a magazine that you were looking for).
It also seems to become a 'dust trap'.
When viewing photo's taken the 'refresh' rate can be slower due to the greater picture density and you can see it 'sliding' down the picture.
Photo's additionally can be accessed via the 'media' shortcut and are stored in date order.
The refresh rate is very quick compared to the N95 8gb which when a picture is taken prompts, do you want to blog it, do you want to do this or that or the other - NO I just want to take another photo please before the moment is lost.

Texting -
See the other comments above about the handling feel.
There is an option to add pre-loaded 'Animations' to your texts (basically little square animals that pull various faces - this I mention if you are fed-up having those :) :-) q:) icons all the time!)

Battery Life -
Oh dear, nowhere near as strong dispite the same type (smaller size).
You WILL find yourself charging it every day, obvious advice here in setting the screen brightness to less than 70% and leaving the Bluetooth off.

Music Player -
Very good here and better than k800i. If you have ever used a PSP the 'slide' option of selecting items sideways then scrolling down a list applies and veryeasy to get used to quickly.
You can also when creating Playlists mark a complete folder within the Music Folder and then simply 'add' it to the playlist - unlike the k800i where you had to mark each and every track you wanted to add.
The volume control is adjustable in half-steps so better range and there is the Stereo Widening feature although I have to say due to the narrow body depth, it is not as ideal for putting on the bathroom shelf in the hotel in the morning wash - very precarious balancing required since it can only be laid on it's LH edge - GOOD NEWS however is the auto-rotate display when inclined on its side.

Summarise -
Is it a good phone, allround - Yes there is no doubt, even good enough for me to pass on the N95 8gb, but to compare the two directly would be unfair, it's a matter of taste.
I would say that I am taking my k800i for holiday but keep the c902 for 'home' use.
TIP - Sony M2 4gb Memory Card at £24.95 from a certain high street ***phone ****house at present GOOD DEAL. Hope This Helps.

  Cyber-Shot C902 Brilliance

Alright where do I start?

Around 5-6 months ago I recieved a samsgun f480v tocco, and recently have become sick of it and decided to purchase a SE c902 (second hand, 9mths old).
After having used the phone for a week Im exagtly as estatic about it as I first was when I recieved it.

Not only has the C902 look just right, it also feels so, due to its cool - rough metallic surface (which feels wonderfully chilled to the touch). It is robust in many senses, its brilliant 5mp camera protected by a unique sliding feature, which is due to it being manufactured using durable materials, (metals, not plastics).

Another great feature are both the touch-sensitive camera buttons, which illuminate a space-marine blue (when camera is out), and the normal keypad which has just the right amout of feedback and resistance when pushing buttons to allow speedy texting/dialling.

With all the physical wonder, SE once again has an extremely userfriendly firmware (SE A2 system) and amazing interface looks and functionality, which makes the phone easy to use for any occasion.

For the normal user who likes to snap a good quality photo once a day this phone is a great buy. It has all the standard features such as Bluetooth, Radio even a very fast internet connections (HSDPA).

Amazing phone!

This is a lovely little phone with some great functions. It is tgood to see a phone with a decent camera and a decent Walkman style music player. Nice clear screen and side touch areas work well, not so sure about the shiney keys. I though at long last I had found a replacement for the k800i but sorry SE the 800i stiil appears to do a better job when comparing pictures?? Other than this direct comparison this is a really good lightweight compact phone which should make people happy.

The C902 in itself is a very nice phone, The camera and lighting display is second to none

However i think what may put people off this phone is the fact the keypad is very awkward indeed slanted keys make it very difficult to text ect

  BLOCKED C902
Review created: 13/12/08

3 of 4 people found this review helpful.

I was pleased to have bought a sony ericsson c902 for the price of only £110
and the item was described as scratched but was not the problem when i had received the phone it was not working for calls or texts so i took it to the unlocking shop and they told me straight away that he cannot unlock my phone it is blocked
so i went to the t-mobile shop and they said the same thing but gave me a number to call when i called this number she asked me for the IMEI number on the phone
and then told me the phone had been blacklisted and before they could do anything about it they needed proof of my purchase so apart from all that the camera and music features work but i didnt get the phone for those purposes.
The seller tells me that it must of been the man at the unlocking shop but that man did not touch the phone he could tell by the noise made when i attempted a call

  C902 Titanium 'Bond' Phone
Review created: 04/06/09
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Truly one of the best phones I have owned, Easy to use with great features, rugged construction which was a priority, Worked first time with my Blue-tooth hands free kit which I couldn't say about my last phone. The list of positives would go on and on, so I thought it was easier to list any things I was disappointed with and there were only three. The S.E. charger connection is a tadge flimsy and bulky for such a quality well made phone and could do with being a simple one stem plug in type. To connect the phone to a simple USB charger in my car I had to seek out a third party USB lead to Sony Ericsson connexion as their own branded lead thinks you are connecting the phone to a computer and wont do the job. Finally (the most annoying part) It really needs a setting to allow you to keep the back light on all the time if you wish, ie for use in a car.

If you are thinking of getting an all around reliable phone that does almost any job + extra, then this is the phone for you. The Sony Ericsson C902 does the company great justice. The phone comes with a 5 megapixel camera which gives the user the opportunity to grab a memorable picture. As well as outstanding picture quality the C902 has the option of taking 15 simultaneous pictures to make sure the perfect image is achieved. The C902 comes with lots of extras, such as: MusicDJ, VideoDJ and PictureDJ.
For all around use this is the perfect phone.

I bought this phone, because i wanted a better pixel camera phone than i already had, however i didnt realise how heavy the phone was until i had purchased it. I have had many sony ericsson phones and i do believe this is the heaviest i have ever had. The camera does however take great pictures, but find because of all the features it can seem quite complicated. The buttons are also small and although i would class myself as a textaholic it isnt that easy even for some with really thin fingers like myself. My husband cant text at all on it, because he has really big fingers so i would advise you go to a shop first and try it for yourself before buying one.

Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot C902 Mobile Phone
Review created: 02/12/08
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Having owned the Sony Ericsson K800i, with the Sony Cybershot 3.0MP camera built in, I could only go for another one of the superb SE Cybershot range when I decided to upgrade. The K800i is a superb phone and is only let down by it's "chunky" size. The C902 is another matter - super slim with all the benefits of its predecesor including a 5MP camera. I believe the SE Cybershot range is one of the best range camera phones on the market (if not THE best!). The phone has a lot of great features, allowing the user to truly personalise it to make it completely unique to them, including MP3 ringtones, load up picture, screen saver and shut down picture - all chosen from your own built in photo album. Each caller can also have their own individual ringtone and ID pic.

I highly recommend the Sony Ericsson C902 phone for those who like to take high quality photos.

Good Points: Stylish, camera is good. thats pretty much it (they are important aspects when i pick phones)

Bad Points: BAD BATTERY LIFE. mine barely lasts 24 hrs. buttons dont feel right. freezes a lot.

General comments: Its a shame this phone has so many faults, i was really looking forward to it because of its looks at the 5mp camera. the major off putter for me is the battery life. got this on an upgrade, and i'm sending back 2mrw. wouldn't really recommend to those who want a phone that'll last over a year.. its more of a 2-3 month kinda phone.

The phone is sleek, light-weighted, and sexy.
Having a cybershot camera already makes it worthwhile. but you can get much more use out of it by simply buying an 8gb mem card and storing music and photos on it. The best thing about this smart phone is that considering what it offers, it is much more reasonable in price than the other phones.
