Sony DVP-FX720 7 in. Portable DVD Player with Screen

This is a superb product. Brilliantly compact and sleek and the 5 hr optimum playback time means it can be used for a decent length flight.

Bought this for our son to use on long journey's, gets bored very easy. Fantastic little machine. Easy to operate, good sound, clear picture. Good value. A definate must have.

I bought this for my wife to take into hospital. Also it will be great when travelling as it has the advantage of a battery that lasts for five hours. Anyone looking for a portable player should consider this model (and the person that supplied it, great service) Picture viewable from all angles,no distortion from the side. Sound great as well. Overall well pleased.

I ordered this as a gift for my son who is in the Navy at sea.
He is over the moon with the unit and says the battery life is excellent and get him to the end of all films. He is very pleased.

Whereas most portable DVD players seem to offer a couple of hours' worth of battery life, this one offers a whopping 5 hours. And, as the main purpose of this purchase is to keep a couple of kids entertained at an airport and through a flight then that was a massively important factor for us.

Screen display is also good, and the unit is small and light. Twin headphone sockets is a bonus too.

The one downside is that the built-in speakers aren't fantastic - but then if you're going to be using this unit in an environment with background noise you're probably going to be on headphones anyway.

We picked this unit up for under £100, which seems like really good value. It replaces a Fuss (no, I'd never heard of them either) unit we picked up from Toys R Us 3 or 4 years ago for £70 or so which only had a couple of hours battery life and ended up only switching itself on when it felt like it. But then top brand 7 inch units were closer to £200 than £100 back then and it didn't make sense to lay out too much on something which only gets used a few times a year when we're away.

Anyway, in summary, highly recommended.

This is simple to operate and gives a reasonable picture, best thing is as a player operating through a TV it means that it is a good travellers companion with good playback quality.
I like it, but then I'm not a techno-nerd.

Does what it says on the tin.
Screen is quite small, but there is easy connection to most TVs, so this is not a major problem, particularly when using the player on holiday in rented accommodation.
Picture is good notwithstanding the last comment and controls and remote are easy to use.
I have not had any problems with the player since I purchased it on ebay and would recommend it to others wanting this type of player.
