The T7 camera is the same size as a credit card and 6 cards thick, I have this camera with me all the time. I use it for taking picture of phone numbers, price of things in shops letters, the list is endless. it takes awesome pictures and its got to be the smallest cam corder in the world, the sound quality is so good played back on the PC / TV Its a great point and shot camera and so easy to use. I use this T7 for Ebay listings being 5.1 mp to upload them on to Ebay is fast and the pictures are clear and sharp so the buyer can be sure they are bidding on. the drew back if it is one I keep getting asked is that a camera (yes) reply looks like a credit card. if your looking for point and shoot camera this it it. sony.co.uk loads more info. thanks for your time i hope this helps Michael

I have had different slim cameras and this is the slimiest one that i have found that fits just right in your pocket so you can take it everywhere and have it ready for those unexpected moments.
It is takes wonderful pictures and this is the second one i have had.
the only small downfall is that you cannot really control the apperture for night shots.. if you are trying to be artistic i would go for a newer model.
great piece of kit!

  Ultra-compact but excellent picture quality!
Review created: 23/04/08

Pros: Very slim & pocketable(Still about the slimmest digicam you can get?), image quality surprisingly good for size, excellent macro pictures, digital noise quite well controlled

Cons: Red eye can be a problem (though there's a red eye reduction option), model now three years old, takes a proprietary battery format (though it's really too slim to take AA/AAA batts!) erm... I'm struggling now!

I got a very battered and slightly faulty one of these to play about with, and was so impressed by it I went and bought a fully working one! This is a great 'go-anywhere' camera, I can slip it in my pocket whenever I'm going out for those opportune moments that may pop up, or where taking my bigger camera wouldn't be convenient. You won't be sacrificing much image quality either as it takes great photos, the macro pictures being particularly impressive. Indoor low light pictures are very good, noise is well controlled (that 'graininess' you get with digicams in low light situations) though still evident, the flash has a limited range though most of them do.

The T7 also has plenty of settings to play about with, including being able to select ISO, play with sharpness/contrast/exposure compensation settings, though you can't manually set aperture or shutter settings, but what do you expect from an ultra-compact camera! Speaking of which, I don't think there's a mainstream manufacturer producing a camera as slim as this, I read somewhere Sony stopped producing this due to consumers complaining of them breaking, but it seems pretty robust to me.

I'm struggling to find bad points about this camera, one would be a tendency to produce red-eye in photos, though the flash does have a red-eye reduction setting to reduce/eliminate this. The other downside is that this camera was introduced in 2005, so can only be bought second-hand now. It's also only 5.1 megapixels, you're getting cameraphones with that resolution now - but has a very good lens - it's pictures are of a superior quality when compared to my N95 phone. Remember though quality of the lens is what's important, not megapixels, most people won't need more than 5mp unless for specialised reasons or if you're printing pictures A3 or bigger size!

Overall, if you can find one of these for sale, I'd get one even if you already have a digicam, it's size and portability mean it's really a 'go-anywhere' camera and pictures shouldn't disappoint. These still change hands on Ebay for up to and sometimes above £100 for a minter so have held their value well. Just make sure you get one with at least the USB cable, as it has a proprietary (Typical Sony!) connector not a standard mini-USB one, though they are available on Ebay!

Is nice design, light and compact. Ideal to pack in handbag and bring to everwhere with you. Battery life is relativly long lasting. I think this is the most compact digit camera that is avilable from Sony they stop making such thin camera after this one due to some customer have complain about how easy to break it, but mine one have been fine with me for about 3 years now.

this is the best camera i have ever owned. it is so easy to use especialy for someone who is not used to technology. the large screen is great compaired to the size of the caera. i bought this camera as a replacement for the one my grand daughter had stolen on holiday in kenya. i was looking all over for the same one but it has been replaced by new modle so i was delighted to win it on e bay for half the origenal price i paid.

Love? - Price, size, weight, thinness, picture quality (in good light)

Hate? - Controls and buttons on left. (now on right on new models)

Could be better? - Battery life but spare ones are cheap.

Overall? - Love it. Slips into pocket un-noticed. Easy to use. Just point and shoot. More than enough.
