Sony Cyber-shot® DSC-W80 Digital Camera

I decided to buy this because it was a decent spec camera and was compact. It is exceptionally easy to use and is small enough to keep with you at all times. It comes with the 'steady shot' facility which is supposed to reduce the blurriness of your pictures, I still get some blurred though but haven't studied much on how to use it in more detail. On the whole I am pleased with the purchase and would recommend it.

Love this camera. Great quality pictures, easy to use. Fits into any pocket or small handbag so can take anywhere. Video clips are pretty good too. Did lots of research before buying and this was among the best for shutter lag, and it is much quicker than anything else I've used. Great value for money.

I bought the Cyber-shot DSC 80 Digital Camera for my wife, who is delighted with it, however she finds it difficult to understand the instructions.It is a small camera with alot of information and takes avery clear picture. We just hope that the battery will last for a long time! Thanks Sony.

I was looking for a new digital camera after getting rid of my old one. After reading various reviews the W80 seems to give very good shutter speed and good pictures in various light situations.

Could't have been more true... camera is brilliant, very light with good build quality and the pictures turned out really good.

The Sony camera was not designed to be sold in the UK or Europe because the "charger" was only designed for the USA and Canada although, in the booklet, it said there was an adapter to use in the UK and Europe. Even though the trader knew it was coming to France the latter was not included and I was sent something that was not EXACTLY as it should have been. It took a long time to resolve this problem but the EBayer was helpfull.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W80 is a nice holiday snapper and easy to use. Nice camera for the price!
Has very good low light sensitivity, fast processing, and is a decent camera all round for the money.
A recommended buy!

However if you take self photos or on timer try looking for a Sony Cyber-Shot that has a swivel head. This is a fantastic feature, but you do lose screen size. My old model is (DSC-F88), possibly there is a new model out with this swivel head feature. I love it.

i did not like the scratch on screen

when i have buy i really hope to find a nice camera with memory stick and all the gadgets but is not that situation.

a synch to use and great quality shots - including great video mode struggling to think of a single thing not to like about it !

I previously had a Sony DSC-W50 until i managed to lose it. I was exremely happy with the photo quality that it produced despite it having no anti-shake feature.

With the W80 however i found that unless the photo was being taken outside or in a very well lit room the image quality definitely suffered. This is a result of the weakness of the flas on this camera it cranks the ISO up to as much as 800 when using the automatic mode. The only way to avoid this is to force the iso to a lower setting (say around ISO 200) but this means it won't take in enough light and result in a sub par picture. Yes the anti-shake feature works well but I can honestly say that not many people would actually make full use of the benefits of this as they'd be using the flash 90% of the time anyways. Images were just no-where near as sharp as they should be for a camera that costs over £100!

If it's just going to be a holiday snaps camera then it's fine, but indoors photo's are not the best.

Having had a Sony Cyber-shot digital camera for a while, I wanted to up-grade, I'm very pleased, it does just what i want it to with the added bonus of having 2.5cm screen and is small light and very attractive, and very reasonably priced in my opinion.

It takes great pics and is'nt to difficult to use, had a problem with the memory stick but the sellers changed mow allis well

top notch compact camera does the job and so easy to use would recommend this camera to anyone you can get same spec for a lower price but the feel and quality of the dsc-w80 is awesome go and buy one today

The auto focus is supreme u can make the bedroom at night look like mid-day with the quality of the aoto picture

Have been searching for an everyday easy to carry digital that could be used without fuss and provide good pictures and instant video.

A friend had done quite a bit of research and just bought this Sony. I tried it out and it seemed to meet the need and the price thru Ebay was very acceptable.

Having now used it for a month I am absolutely delighted with the purchase.

Easy to use - great pictures and many splendid built in features like the slide show with music and fading etc.

Highly recommended as the sort of camera you stick in your pocket when you set off and have to hand when you have that view or family incident you just want to capture.
