If you want a basic, simple to use cheap digital camera - this is a good choice. It is pretty compact, and has all the basic features you will need. You will need to make sure you get an extra memory stick to store your photos on, and it would be well worth while investing in some good quality rechargable batteries (and a charger) as the camera comes as new with just disposible batteries. Now discontinued, but last sold for around £100 to £130 on the high street. Perfect for the beginner.
This is a very nice, small compact camera suited to a person new to digital cameras, who wants good results first time. It is small and easy to use and gives good value for money. I bought it for a niece who is 16 years old and loves to take pictures for personal use and schoolwork. On the minus side, the LCD screen is a bit small and the autofocus light is very bright when taking shots. The screen can be switched of suring use and the view finder used instead, which saves on batteries. I have bought her some high stamina rechargeable battieries for it as she goes through a lot of batteries. All round good camera for the beginner with a good array of features and very few niggles. A bargain if the price is right.
I bought this for my mum , a bit of a technophobe ! But she gets great results from this cute compact , it's easy to use / can use rechargeables or normal batteries / has some internal memory etc etc , The one slight drawback is the display screen size is perhaps too small , however a big pluspoint is the internal optical viewfinder - this is ideal if it's bright sunshine or for folk who are not used to digital cameras . It's been relialble but the memory stick did have an error code recently , which takes a reformat to fix .
I bought this for my wife as I already have one and really like it. Though it is now a fairly old model, it produces excellent results for a point-and-shoot camera and has the advantage of having a real viewfinder! Admittedly the display is pretty small, but it's adequate for checking the results and setting up the camera. But probably the best thing about it is the speed of response! It's ready for use a couple of seconds after switching on and the shutter-lag is very short. Also, it uses standard AA batteries which are easily available. The only downside is that it is perhaps a little bulky compared with newer similar cameras, but it's not really a problem. And my wife is happy with it!
For the price, an absolute bargain. Though, as described, the LCD screen whites out, give it a good whack and its perfect. As you would expect from a Sony the picture and video quality is superb. VERY pleased with this purchase
I've bought because i bought a memory card for other camera, and i can't sell it to any one, i preferred bought the camera. The only problem was the flash does not work. But it's a good camera and in imacculate condition.
