Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P10 Digital Camera

Camera looked like it had been thrown from a car window at speed!
Dented, bashed, scraped.
Not at all representative of how it looked in the photographs.

As usual, Ebay not interested, sitting high on their "almost monopoly" they are confident that we are trapped by their ridiculous procedures, insane logic and "do nothing" attitude to problems.
Confident that one cannot "go elsewhere" to another "market place" as they have this "almost (within the monopolies commission guidelines) monopoly".

One could shop elsewhere, but goods are more expensive, sales of ones items poor and protection low (HA! as if there's much of that on ebay anyway!)

Overall disappointed with this product and CONFIDENT that ebay will not allow this review into the public domain. (god forbid any negative criticism of ebay be allowed to be voiced!)

The Sony DSC-P10 is a compact little marvel.
It can be used a point and shoot camera, with it doing everything for you. There is a large screen on the back to frame your picture, and this is bright, and is clear even on quite sunny days.
Or, you can set it up to use it manually. However, I am sure most will never attempt this, as persons that would do this would not choose such a small camera out of snobbery.
The camera is quite heavy for its size, but this does add to the quality feel. Being a Sony product, everything moves with the precision that it should.
It has no memory of its own, but the Memory Sticks are now easy, and cheap to come by, and allows easy swapping to take further pictures.
For faults, if you wish you can make one I spose of the fact it only takes the built in battery. Whilst this allows for it to be better than your average rechargeable battery (a bit like a quality mobile phone battery in your camera), it does mean that if you are out and about, and you have not charged it fully, and it runs out, you have had it!
Also, the actual size of the files the pictures create due to their complexity can actually cause problems with some cheap email systems, as they cannot handle the whole file.
But that is "clutching at straws nit-picking!"
It is a superb camera, enjoy.

i have recently bought this product to start selling things on ebay,the thing i like about it is,i borrowed my brothers camera when we went on holiday and recorded great memories on it.now we have a second child i can record them growing up.

1-Supper budget camera-good value for money
2-consistency and reliable body,funtions and material,
3-long battery life,
4-huge accessories in the market ( battery, under water case...ect)

thi camera ideal for beginner, budget and long distance traveler.

I used to borrow a camera from friends, but then I decided to have my own. It works perfectly, the quality of pictures and video are excellent. What you need is a memory stick with 256mgb or bigger. It is advisable to have a supplementary battery, but the one which is in the camera is enough to make photos all day long. Sony is Sony!

I now have 2 of these camera's.

Great pocket size. Great quality from such a small camera.

Easy to transfer images via USB. Can manage images on board the camera if you are not near a computer.

Built in flash options for indoor photo's.

Will accept high capacity pro duo memory cards and battery life is good.

Only negative I can think of is I would have prefered if the battery charged through USB

As.it.says.easy.to.use.Point.and.Shoot.Perfect.for.first.digital.camera.Have.only.tried.indoor.shots.they.are.very.clear.and.precise.Would.recommend.for.ease.of.use.Does.need.larger.memory.so.memory.card.required.

Having had the same camera stolen whilst on holiday, but retaining my memory cards I purchased this camera whilst still abroad, arrived within 3 days, excellent! and once returned from Holidays was able to view the commencement of my holiday.
Same excellent results as before having just done a couple of hundred shots at a wedding,

I had this model before, I purchased this one as my one broke when I was out, I am a diver and use it to take photo's underwater water in conjunction with the housing. I find it very easy to use and get every thing I need out of it.

Year of manufacture, around 2003. Although superceded with modern higher resolution cameras today, still a very good compact camera with a great deal of functions and a host of accessories, such as waterproof housing, lens adaptors etc. Cheap to buy secondhand and as I have the accessories, I have had 3 (two stolen over the years) and use the latest as a second camera for rough sports such as surfing and snowboarding.

I had a Sony Cyber-Shot DSCP10 which I purchased 4 years ago and was absolutely delighted with it. Then it went wrong. They are no longer made, but I so loved this model that I really wanted to replace it -and now I have, thanks to E-bay.

I love this camera for the excellence of its lens; the sharpness of the photographs; its versatility; wonderful editing functions; and its size. I can carry it with me always in a pocket, a belt-bag, or a handbag.

I can take photographs with it set on 5 megapixels and then edit them to bring them in even nearer.

I have now bought 2 from E-Bay - and can't guarantee that I will not buy another.

Why Sony discontinued the model I cannot imagine.

It works fine the only thing it needed new battery after a week that i do not mind,Has it was not new.

There was something wrong with the battery which wasn't mentioned i don't think. The fact you'd charge it and it would come up 2 minutes later saying it had no battery left was abit strange. Though a good perchase for the price.

i like sony as a company and they make a good camera, it is simple to use and very robust, which is good for me as i take it when i go fishing or walking the dog, and as a bonus it takes videos,it will take 90mins continuos on a 128mg stick,which are quite cheap. as a all round camera it is top dog for me and i will be happy to buy one as a spare
